An Illicit Love Affair (RIP)

Forming in early August of '05 the original 5 piece made up of Jarred Kadas(vocs/screams) Alex Patsenko(guitar/back up vocs) Josh Silvestro (guitar/screams) Josh Taylor (drums) and recent addition Les Daniels (bass) has made much progress with their music, catchy rhythyms and leads, screaming hardcore breakdowns, catchy lyrics, and amzing drum beats, the name of the band refering to the bands old appetite for sex, and the over all energy of the band has helped them to stick out and gain fans.
After playing just a few shows each beening energetic and whole hearted. Placing in the battle of the bands and finishing 4th in finals, has only pushed the band to work harder to reach number one.
The band is so strongly influenced by other bands, people, life, just everyday is somethig new. The music is mostly made when they are in upset moods almost since that is when they seem to write the best. They get the classic "EMO" but all music has emotion and AILA just uses it to make better music. The lyrics talk of relationships, love, and each song's lyrics are more or less a story behind one of the members, anything from heartbreak, to accomplishments, and to struggle. Such as the ever so popular "Can't Stop Us Now" the lyrics refering to not being able to slow us down get in our way or even keep us from getting what we are determined to do. This song was written right after the band struggled with losing members. Each song written is so completely different from the last not just lyrically, but musically, AILA writes each song so different that one song might be slow, and filled with hope and the next heavy and fast yet filled with despair, some songs consisting of even both, as to be able to drawn in fans of both genres with just one song.
After months of wanting to make one song completely different then the rest they brought in Alex Zoloty and in their latest song Meant To Be (Forever) they use her amazingly talented voice to bring what little is left to bring to AILA. Almost replying to the voice of Alex P in their duet, taking a chance with the song was one good move they made since it became very popular with everyone.
After releasing their 1st EP with songs such as Say I Love You and Meant To Be AILA has gotten much attention, and their fan base has grown! They currently have lost a bass player Bradd Smith, after searching they have found a much worthy replacement. Less who brings much more fun to the band then there already is. AILA couldnt be more happy to have him!
