About Me

I'm writing this because there's a lot of newspaper articles out there about me, and none of them, i feel, represent what really happened. At least here i can try to control some of my information without hopefully coming across like i'm trying to manipulate what you'll think of me. I'm from Los Angeles and new to New York. I grew up homeless in the 1980's Los Angeles hardcore scene. It was the LA skinheads who took care of me. Within the short span of a couple of years i survived two stabbings, one assassination attempt, skull fractures, and most of my teeth knocked out by Tom Metzger's aryan boneheads. After the kid came into my ninth grade class to shoot me in the back of the head (he ended up shooting himself in the foot as he was drawing his gun 2 feet behind me) i went into hiding. During the next few years Metzger's racist skinheads assassinated all but two of my childhood friends looking for me. Listen loud and clear: I'M NOT PLAYING DRESS-UP. I went through many years trying to sort this shit out and i've gone thru a lot of changes. At the end of it all, i'm here to honor what was taken from Marc, John, Darren, and Drew. I'm here to tell this story to anyone who'll fucking listen; i'm going to talk about it; i'm going to write about it; i'm going to wear it as my goddamned fucking uniform. My lifestyle isn't a choice, it's compulsory by the innocent blood of my dearest.I'm hoping to meet folk to have an INCLUSIVE NYC scene. This isn't for cliques, gangs, or holier than thou attitudes. Most of us come from challenging backgrounds, the last thing we need is to be too cool for each other...I believe in something bigger than myself; I'm a part of something that is bigger than myself. Our scene was started by BOTH Blacks & Whites victimized by an unfair economic class system. You cannot be a Skinhead without fighting for CLASS UNITY. That means RACIAL UNITY too!!! I might not be able to change many things, but I wont give up the streets on MY WATCH. I'm part American-Indian, part Jewish, part European; I served in the Israeli Army and I'm also pro-Palestinian; my stepfather is a Black Man from South-Central, and I am PROUD OF WHO I AM. Oh yeah, and one more thing, i just got my doctorate, so WATCH THE FUCK OUT!!! This skinhead is taking the bricks down from inside these prison-walls!!!

My Interests

community building; mountaineering; DIY; eco-saboteurism; hardcore intelligent people; skinheads, traditional; addiction and recovery; opposition to the global death corporation; getting together to get over our fucking differences and alleviate the hate that kills so many so unnecessarily - one human encountering another human

I'd like to meet:

Traditional Skinheads, Oi! Skinheads, 2-Tone Skinheads, Mods, Scooterboys, Scooter Girls, Rudeboys, Rudegirls, Bootboys & Bootgirls; Maybe even some Punks! ABSOLUTELY NO RACIST SHIT, boneheads (aka, so-called racist skinheads) need not apply...

Music:

Fugazi, Ludwig Van Beethoven, Lungfish, Toots & The Maytals, Hector Berlioz, The Aggrolites, Johnny Cash, The 4skins, Antonin Dvorak, Fishbone, Hank Williams Sr. (the original), Millions of Dead Cops, The Specials, Louis Armstrong, The Evens, Fredrich Chopin, Descendents, Rachid Taha, The Toasters, Miles Davis, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Fear (by the way, they were an Oi! band and i'll fight anyone who says otherwise), Jean Sibelius, Scream, The Selector, Willie Nelson, Johann Sebastian Bach, Black Flag, Franz Schubert, Dead Kennedys, Merle Haggard, Fredric Handel, Fugazi, Rites of Spring, Sergi Rochmanonov, Bob Marley, Johannes Brahms, Bad Brains, Leonard Bernstien, Thelonius Monk, Pogues Pytor Ilyich Tchaikovski, Fugazi, i think The Beat's "Special Beat Service" is the finest crafted album, it's so overlooked - i absolutely hate U2 and The Beatles, i mean i seriously hate them.

Movies:

The Outlaw Josey Wales, The Unforgiven, 3:10 to Yuma; Odd that they're all westerns, didn't plan it that way

Books:

Edward Abbey:Desert Solitaire, Monkey Wrench Gang; Annie Dillard: Holy the Firm, For the Time Being, Pilgrim at Tinker Creek; Moby Dick (actually, i think this is my favorite book); Lord of the Rings (no jokes please); Life of Pi; I've read a lot of the following: Immanuel Kant; Moses Maimonides, Soren Kierkegaard, Edmund Husserel; Jacques Derrida, Jean-Paul Sartre, Emanuel Levinas, Martin Heidegger, Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Martin Buber, Franz Rosenzweig, Gershom Scholem, Joseph Campbell; and i absolutely cannot abide the russian authors, Dostoevsky, Tolstoy, etc. - how in the world did such false assumptions about the human condition become classics? Oh, and Shakespeare is really good despite all the people who say he is really good.

Heroes:

Ian MacKaye,Totanka Yotanka
