Loving the following:
Dr Who (loving the new series)
Scrubs (its not as good as it was but still completely entertaining; "Here's a riddle for you, two guys destroyed your bike with a baseball bat and a crowbar, one of them wasn't me")
My Name is Earl (Randy is the greatest: "I'm sorry I put his underwear on my head earl, I really thought it was a superhero mask")
Family Guy/ American Dad (These kinda speak for themselves, who doesn't love an evil, tyrannical baby bent on world domination and a ex-olympic skiier goldfish?)
Life On Mars (Bring on series 2! How could they top the way series 1 ended though?)
Battlestar Galactica (Absolutely awesome, makes me proud to be a geek. SlutBot(RTM) and InnocentBot(RTM) are top quality totty too). HOORAY FOR SEASON 3!!!!!!!!!!!
Before I start I suppose I should list all the basics. Asimov, Tolkien, Dan Brown (although I often feel guilty about that one), Pratchett, Grisham, C.S. Lewis and pretty much all the classics have been read and enjoyed, but talking about them would be boring as everyone's read them or should do at some point, so I'm going to talk about something different.
I once worked in a theme park in Oakwood. I say once, I actually worked there for four years. Anyway, when I worked there I did a spell as a general binman/ cleaner and that is where I met a lady called Jane who basically is responsible for my reading material ever spreading beyond Terry Pratchett and John Grisham. Not that there's anything wring with Terry Pratchett and John Grisham, but only reading two authors is like only listening to two bands, or only watching movies by two particular directors and that just isn't right.
I think the best book she introduced me to was The Corrections by Jonathan Frantzen. She lent it to me directly after The True History of the Kelly Gang by Peter Carey, and both books were written in a style so different to anything I'd ever read before that I was hooked from start to finish.
Since then, I think only one book has topped any of the books lent to me in that summer and that book is The Five People you Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. It is a really touching book and it gave me a whole new perspective on life, something I find a book is far better at than a film or a song ever will be.
