I am here for Friends

About Me

Hi! Thanks for checking out myspace. My life is incredibly full and I realize how lucky I am to be married to my best friend and to also have been given the gifts of two beautiful and healthy children (three children as of July!) I'm so thankful for my family and my little house on Normal Street (that's really my street name, I'm in no way claiming normalcy!) I'm really close with my mom & my sisters, I have a great job working part time for my stepdad as an accounting assistant. Even though my true calling is social work, that career is on hold for now while I raise my kids. My church family is also incredibly important to me, and I'm lucky enough to have a dozen friends in my home every week for deep conversations about God & Life. I guess that sums it up for now, in the meantime, enjoy myspace and you might learn even a little bit more about me.
Send my pics and video to your cell phone!

I found my layouts for Myspace on pYzam.com , but they also have really funny pictures !

My Interests

I love to read, watch movies, have long talks with my husband Dave, listen to my children laughing, contemplate God and all that He is and has done for me.

I'd like to meet:

Jesus Christ, John Eldredge, Donald Miller, Regis & Kelly (& Gelman), John Cusack-Chris Noth-Jon Stewart, Max Weinberg!, the actors & dancers from the film version of West Side Story, my deceased paternal grandfather

Music:

70s Disco, Peter Paul and Mary, Violet Burning, Sixpence None the Richer, Jars of Clay, Out of the Grey, Sheryl Crow, Bjork, The Cranberries, Badly Drawn Boy, Ben Folds, David Gray

Movies:

West Side Story, The Color Purple, Poseidon Adventure (the original), Lost in Translation, The Man Without a Face, Dancer in the Dark, Amelie, Bridget Jones' Diary, Father of the Bride (the modern version), Dirty Dancing, Tommy Boy, Clueless, Love Actually, It's a Wonderful Life (gotta watch it at Christmas!), The Apostle, Edward Scissorhands, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Say Anything and EVERYTHING Christopher Guest & M. Night Shyamalan. I also really really enjoy movies that are "true stories", like Alive starring Ethan Hawke, it's one of my all times faves.

Television:

Lost, The Office, Heroes & Idol, my other faves include classics like Roseanne on DVD, 60 Minutes (the best show ever!), Judge Judy (I may want to have her job one day, not sure), Wheel of Fortune, and I ALWAYS start my morning with a cup of coffee and Regis and Kelly. I'm such a huge fan of Kelly that when my husband & I renewed our vows in Vegas for our ten year anniversary this past October we chose the same wedding chapel Kelly and her husband Mark got married in!

Books:

Fiction works: Robinson Crusoe, Bridget Jones' Diary, Memoirs of a Geisha, East of Eden. Non-Fiction works: Wild at Heart by John Eldregde should be read by all men and the women who love & support them. Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller should be read by any one even slightly interested in spiritual matters.

Heroes:

Jesus Christ (my savior), Dave Wilkins (my husband), Gloria Ward (my mom), Kate Woertman (my cousin)

Shufflin’ toward 32

Last week I turned 32. I’m so glad to be done with 31 because I’m not a big fan of odd numbers. I have this whole thing where the TV volume can only be at an odd number until 30 then it ...

Shalom

It is not completely accurate to translate the meaning of the word shalom (as used in the Bible) as "peace", writes Rob Bell in his book Velvet Elvis. He says "Shalom is the presence of the goodness ...
