This week's poem comes from an interesting new find here on MySpace, David .
Today's poemWhen In Rome
When in Rome we would roam and roam,
sipped sweet custard eggnog in Prague.
Smelled biting curry Old'n Surrey,
what did we have to celebrate?
Why with me did you laugh and laugh,
tender heart agog lifting fog.
Your exotic taste hypnotic,
just who are you trampling fate?
Couldn't say sorry I'm sorry,
merest broken cog or prologue.
Suspending rued bluff long enough,
wished for forgiveness gestate?
Let's scamper the streets of Rome once more,
buy silly hats and quest for awful stuff.
Ponder quietly a Komodo Island shore,
or rising moon o'er the Danube bluff.
Chastened mouth quivered before,
aching jagged, breathing rough.
Smiles now seem a deranged roar,
feelings molten, jumbled gruff.
Can't we escape your escape?
