So come pick me up, I've landed.

About Me

I like to consider myself pretty gangsta. I embarrass my friends and myself for my pleasure and sometimes theirs. But at the same time, I am the most confident and self-respecting woman you will ever meet in your life. I have a very, very low bullshit tolerance. I work at a university and am working on a master's there somewhat against my will. I like weird socks and funny hats. I have a serious problem w/ bad grammar, unpainted toenails, flip-flops w/ heels and popped-collars. Sometimes I feel that just like people have to obtain a marriage license, people should also have to obtain a license to procreate. There is the smallest of filters between my thoughts and my mouth; PC and lady-like are not necessarily my "things." Take it or leave it.Often referred to as a "guy's girl." This comes from a lifetime of A) my father raising his daughter to be a real man (i do a lot of my own car maintenance and can throw a good spiral w/ a Nerf (can't get my hand around a real football)) and B) growing up raising boys myself (be it the boys from Poquoson or the lacrosse team at JMU). When 90% of your friends are dudes, you have to find a way to fit in and become comfortable in your dudeness. I may be too comfortable. Andrew said I have an honorary penis.

My Interests

Kicking ass in the day and taking names in the evening. My friends and making them laugh. Singing loudly in my car. Attending professional sporting events. The Victoria's Secret catalogue. Traveling abroad more and learning new languages. Gymnastics back in the day.

I'd like to meet:

People who don't suck at life. People who can make me laugh more than I make myself laugh. And as always, someone who's more of a man than I am.

Music:

Nickel Creek first and foremost. Jimmy Eat World and Counting Crows. The Shins. I love the new Killers album. The soundtrack from RENT (takes me back to my showchoir days.) I'm a sucker for punk music. And Guns and Roses, of course.

Movies:

Field of Dreams. Almost Famous. Beavis and Butthead Do America. Lion King. 50 First Dates. Harry Potters. LOTR. RENT. Legends of the Fall. Miracle. Under the Tuscan Sun b/c it's what I want for my life at age 40. And I get good chuckles from Big Lebowski and Dumb and Dumber.

Television:

Entourage, Studio 60, Scrubs, Family Guy, ER, My Boys (the show loosely based on the events of my life), Rome. I don't really have time for much tv.

Books:

Harry Potters, Angels and Demons, Memoirs of a Geisha, Gone w/ the Wind (until you get to the last page), Pillars of the Earth, Anna Karenina, anything w/ an historical setting.

Heroes:

Mom and Dad, hands down. You'll always hear me talk about how I have the greatest family ever. Jeremy Ross is sort of a hero for me too, but a differnt kind.
