About Me

Hey, what's up. My name is Jason, I'm just some kid that enjoys music whether it be listening to, making, or playing for others. Born on German soil, but raised American. I don't think what music I have on this page is very good, but I'm workin on it. Soon I will have a proper setup to make tunes as I've been trying to mature my abilities to something i feel confident with and something i feel can contend with all the music out there that I love and respect so much. Any artists out there interested in collaborations, remixes, advice, or just sharing ideas feel free to chat it up with me. I'm always learning too and tend to learn better through example. I've been a DJ now for 6 years and have had the honor of partying and playing with some real cool people. I started out as DJ Matic playing Hard Funky House/Disco House at some dirty, dirty apartment parties [UT represent!] but have progressed to Trip Hop/Hip Hop/Breakbeats. So far I've been fortunate enough to play at places like Turntables on the Hudson in NYC and also a regular at Club Five in DC, Bazzaar in ATL among other venues in and around the East Coast. Now living in Blacksburg, VA... me and my boys at boogieburg.com have been planning/promoting/throwing some wicked parties with some of best DJs this side of the planet and I've been running a local DJ event for over 3 years now called Re:Fill at the Rivermill Bar and Grill. I'm also a designer/photographer/artist in my other time [ex. Refill flyer]... and have been trying to keep up and stay in touch with that. So creative stimuli/minds welcome! :)
I also co-founded the weekly radio show the Laundry Room Sessions with Gaskins. We've been at WUVT 90.7FM for over 5 years now. You can check out our radio show, the Laundry Room Sessions on WUVT 90.7FM Blacksburg, VA from 7-9pm Fridays. [live stream: www.wuvt.vt.edu ] Along with Gaskins, Eclectic, Bradburn, Skwash, and Cerna I have been very active in the local Blacksburg DJ scene and have helped to keep it going by throwing and promoting events. We've partied with All Good Funk Alliance , Kid Gusto , Katie Skills, Tester, Implicit, Suneel, Locks, Farid, Ohmega Watts, Thomas Blondet, Javier Miranda, Fort Knox Five, Sound Advice, South City Allstars, DJ DRM, Paul Digs, Aldo Vanucci, Tal M Klein, A-Mac (Q'dup), Sabo, & DJ Meistro. All cool kids, all great parties. Also, a big thank you to all the people that support what we do... thank you for being cool and making what we do special... without you all none of this would matter.
This is partly a way to spread boogieburg love. But i'm down for meeting new people too. Myspace is what it is and I've come to terms with it as being a legitimate resource to make new friends and share ideas with like minded adventurers. If you are in the 'burg and like to have a good time, check the website or hit me up here and join a cool music scene you wont see many places in the world. All the best,
Subklue
