Jamie Ciello Tuazon better known as Ciello was born on December 21, 1987 in Davao City, Philippines. She moved to the United States when she was five years old. By six her parents had realized her singing potential and with their support she was entering singing competitions by the age of 8. Drawing on her favorite singers: Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, and Aretha Franklin for inspiration, Ciello was soon performing regularly at local talent shows, benefits, and competitions. She earned the praise and recognition from her audiences. At the age of 16, Ciello entered the national eye on stage at the Showtime At the Apollo, Amateur Night in Harlem, New York . Ciello performed ae rendition of Im Every Woman by Whitney Houston and was crowned twice the champion. That same year she won at the Toronto International Pop Music Festival.Ciello has also opened up for the Philippines greatest balladeers, The Greatest Hitmakers at the Sand Castle Stadium in Atlantic City. In the summer of 2005 Ciello was in a band known as Ciello's Rhythm. She began writing original songs and performing at local clubs and events in the New York Metropolitan Area. Ciello has had the privilege to share the stage with many of the Philippine's sensations including Rachel Alejandro, Nora Aunor, Gary Valenciano, The Aegis, The Hot DOG Band, Vina Morales, The Cascades, Comedian Rex Navarette, Willie Nepomuceno, Luke Mijares, Nina, American Idol's Camile Velasco, and mainstream reggae artist Elephant MAN.
Ciellos vocal style incorporates a distinctive cross section of modern female vocal traditions from R&B, Jazz, and Soul standards. Her command of both emotive ballads and powerful dance songs makes her performances a true tour de force. Despite her busy schedule, she still makes time for her studies and has managed to earn the honor roll at Pace University.
This year Ciello is off to a great start. She won the Pinoy Pop Superstar on the East Coast and Asian Idol Grand Champion In Washington D.C. In October 2006 she recently organized a fundraiser concert for the BANTAY BATA organization along side with many talented artists in the tri-state area. Ciello is currently working on her DEBUT album to be out later this spring- summer 2007. With a strong following of fans from all over the tri-state area, and writing and singing style that grows stronger each year; Ciello is poised to embark on a music career of infinite possibilities. for booking and info contact:
