About Me

If you're so taken with how awesome I am that the only way to satisfy the expression of my impression is to give me money, I'd like to make it possible for you to, you know, properly express yourself:

I don't really have much to tell about myself, so here's what I'm doing: I'll give you a setup and cast for my life as if it were a TV show; that way you'll know everything you need to know to understand what I'm talking about on my blog.

[] The Setup: I recently quit a job held for four years at Rave Motion Pictures in Vestavia Hills, AL, where I worked as a projectionist. I am currently working two jobs, both as a shift leader at the Blockbuster Video near my old theatre and at the McWane Science Center as a motion-simulator operator. I am in a relationship with a wonderful, beautiful girl named Jennifer, and I hope to be moving into my own apartment, alone, without a roommate (for the first time in my life) very soon. While my life is undergoing a lot of changes right now, it is improving almost faster than I can think to be thankful for it.

[] The Cast (Season I):
Me (Blaine Kyle Evans) Mike, roommate and friend Tommy & Mike Varner, friends and bandmates Meryl, ex-girlfriend My Family (Mom, Dad, Lindsey, & Katie) Plus Many Recurring Guests!

[] The Cast (Season II):
Me (Blaine Kyle Evans) Mike, roommate and friend Tommy, friend and bandmate Patrick, friend and co-worker Micah, friend and religious confidant Jamie, friend and co-worker My Family (Mom, Dad, Lindsey, & Katie) Plus Many Recurring Guests!

[] The Cast (Season III):
Me (Blaine Kyle Evans) Mike, friend Patrick, friend and co-worker Tommy, friend and bandmate Jay, friend My Family (Mom, Dad, Lindsey, & Katie) Plus Many Recurring Guests, Old and New!

[] The Cast (Season IV):
Me (Blaine Kyle Evans) Jennifer, girlfriend Jamie, friend Katherine, friend Patrick, friend My Family (Mom, Dad, Lindsey, & Katie) The McWane Science Center and Staff Plus Many Recurring Guests, Old and New!

My Interests

Everything. Except for cruelty to animals. That pisses me off. Cruelty to people (some people) is okay. Just don't mess with innocent animals.

I'd like to meet:

Well, cliché as it sounds, I'd like to meet Jesus. I'm not going to tell you I'd want to meet Him to praise Him, and tell Him how I love Him. That's all a given, right? I'd love to ask Jesus for a reaction on all of the hypocracy and judgment and pompour and cultic ritualism that gets carried out in His name today. I want to get His advice directly on how to make people today understand that His message was about love, and how love and forgiveness can simplify so much. Nobody turns the other cheek, and those who do are criticized as cowards, indeed ostracized by the more powerful in Christian establishments for their "weakness". I want to change that.Also, I'd like to meet John Lennon, if it were possible.Previously, I'd have said that I'd like to meet the person I will fall in love with someday, but that is no longer something I have to look for.table table table table, div table table table{ border-style:none;

Music:

I'm pretty open about music, pretty much every genre has something I can enjoy. That said, there are, of course, some artists or bands that have favor with me. [] Favored Bands & Artists (In Random Order):

Matchbox Twentry Cake Toby Keith Hank Williams Hank WIlliams, Jr. Hank WIlliams, III Willie Nelson Johnny Cash Brooks & Dunn The Kottonmouth Kings The Insane Clown Posse Jeff Buckley Aerosmith The Beatles Bob Marley & The Wailers Three Doors Down Lonesome Wyatt & Those Poor Bastards
Of course, I favor my band, too; it just didn't seem appropriate to put it on the list. The band is called The Basement.

Movies:

[] My Favorites, in (Approximate) Descending Order:

Back to the Future III Back to the Future II Back to the Future Batman Begins Dogma Mallrats Clerks Chasing Amy Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back Jersey Girl Batman Returns Batman What Dreams May Come Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Raiders of the Lost Ark Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels Snatch Stay Disney's The Sword in the Stone Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest Serenity Spartacus The Matrix Happy Gilmore Billy Madison Sin City Desperado Once Upon a Time In Mexico El Mariachi Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith Life is Beautiful Walk the Line Spy Kids Pulp Fiction Reservoir Dogs Alice in Wonderland Harvey Memento Closer Sunset Boulevard Finding Neverland The Machinist Aladdin Dirty Work
Honorable mention goes to The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and all excluded Star Wars films. They were good, but they don't quite make the cut to be among my favorites.

Television:

My Name is Earl Battlestar Galactica Smallville Everything Joss Whedon (Buffy, Angel, & Firefly) The Andy Griffith Show The Twilight Zone Quantum Leap Sealab 2021 (Adult Swim) Aqua Teen Hunger Force Family Guy Sliders Seinfeld Friends One Tree Hill Numbers

Books:

[] Let's make it authors & writers, instead:Robert McCammon Dan Brown J. K. Rowling

Heroes:

Jennifer saved me from a bleak and cynical existence and showed me what it was like to be genuinely happy for the first time since my childhood.

Regarding the song

You might be inclined to say that my most recent addition to my profile songs, "Cosmic Girl," is suggestive of a homosexual nature.  I might, in turn, be inclined to say to you, "Fuck off." It's...

I changed my layout! Woooo! Of course, now that you're reading my blog, the news is already a bit late. I mean, right now, you're viewing the layout of my blog, which hasn't actually changed. Man,...

I Don't Wanna Die Anymore

I put up a new song.  It's from the New Radicals, whom you may remember from that song "You Get What You Give" back in the nineties.  I really like that entire album.  I don't understan...
