ALAN JACKSON’S “SISSY’S SONG†GOES TO RADIO NEXT WEEK
SISSY’S SONG IS THE 4TH SINGLE FROM GOOD TIME
“Sissy’s Songâ€, the fourth single from Alan Jackson’s #l album GOOD TIME, goes to radio next week. He wrote the song following the sudden death of a woman who worked in the Jackson household and who the Jackson’s saw every day.
“She was just a real sweet young woman,†he said. “The sudden death of someone so young who we saw every day was really hard on me and all of us. I didn’t sleep for a while. I just didn’t feel right. I sat down one day and wrote this song and after that I felt alright.â€
Afterwards, Jackson went into the studio with Keith Stegall and made the recording with just guitar and vocals and gave it to the family for the funeral. “A lot of people told me how much it made them feel better and helped them get through it a little easier, so I was very proud of it.†Jackson has scored three consecutive #l singles from GOOD TIME, “Small Town Southern Manâ€, “Good Timeâ€, and “Country Boyâ€, the last of which became his 25th #1. This is his longest streak of #s since 1995-1996.

Alan hit’s 50-Million Album Milestone!!!!!!
Alan Jackson Hits 50-Million Album Milestone!
Nashville, TN – Superstar Alan Jackson just scored the 33rd 1 single of his career with "Good Time," the title track to his 17th album, and he achieves another incredible career landmark with news that he has now crossed the 50-million album sales milestone.A native of small-town Newnan, GA, Jackson was the first artist signed to the fledgling Arista Nashville record label in 1989, and with the release the following year of his debut album, Here in the Real World, his songs immediately connected with fans – leading to four 1 singles from that record alone.Over the course of 16 Gold, Platinum, and Multi-Platinum albums leading up to the release this past March of Good Time, Jackson has become one of country music's most respected and honored artists.Sony BMG Nashville Chairman Joe Galante praised, "It's a short drive from Georgia to Tennessee, but it's a long way to 50 million albums sold! Alan's songs and shows have propelled him to this incredible level of success. He has never lost touch with the fans, and they've shown their appreciation year after year with 1 singles and Platinum sales."With more than 100 major industry awards to his credit, Jackson is a three-time Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year and the most-nominated artist in CMA history. A prolific songwriter, Jackson penned 23 of his 33 1 singles, including his GRAMMY-winning Best Country Song, "Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)."Jackson's Good Time collection recently became the fourth album of his career to debut simultaneously at 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums and all-genre Billboard 200 sales charts. The 17-song release also marked a career first for Jackson, as the only time he has been the sole writer on each of the songs on his album.

July 18, 2008 — Alan Jackson intended for his song "Good Time" to make a statement, and apparently it has: It slid into the No. 1 position on the "Country Aircheck" singles chart this week. His singles in recent years have tended toward ballads, and his Precious Memories album had a serious tone to it as well. Alan thought "Good Time," which is the title track to his current album, would remind fans that he knows how to party, and he actually intended for it to precede "Small Town Southern Man" as a single."I wanted to come out with ‘Good Time’ first," he says. "Since ‘It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere,’ most of my songs have been ‘Remember When’ and this gospel thing and I-forgot-what-all out between now and then. I needed somethin', I felt, like a little more fun, uptempo thing like ‘Chattahoochee’ or ‘Little Bitty’ or ‘Don’t Rock The Jukebox,’ some of the songs I’ve had over the years. ‘Good Time’ was my choice [as the first single], but the label felt like at the time they wanted ‘Southern Man,’ and I didn’t disagree. Lookin’ back, it was probably a good choice. It was winter time, and it was more typical of what people expect of me sometimes, I think, and the song’s done well. It was probably a good way to crack this album open and put out somethin' else for the summer."That "somethin’ else," of course, was "Good Time," which now peaks right in the heart of the summer. Not that Alan’s only thinking about this season — he’s already got a tour on the docket for the fall that will pair him with Trace Adkins.

May 7,2008 Mother's Day is a typically a time when kids pay special attention to their moms, and in Alan Jackson,,s household, Denise approaches this Sunday with a newfound status as a celebrity.Denise wrote a book, It,,s All About Him: Finding The Love Of My Life, that chronicled their relationship. It was definitely successful, debuting at No. 1 on The New York Times Best-Sellers List when it was released last summer. Alan believes her accomplishment set a really good example for their three daughters, showing that a mom can do things outside of the household, too."I think it,,s been great for them to see her do somethin'," he says. "She,,s a great role model for them anyway ,, and always has been, whether she did anything professional or not ,, but they,,ve never seen her go work. I could see it in their eyes that they were surprised, and also I could see ,,em with interest lookin,, at it and thinkin,, that it was special for her to do that, so I think it,,s a very good thing for the kids to see."Mother,,s Day ends up being a prelude for Denise,,s second book. The Road Home will be in bookstores on Tuesday.

ALAN JACKSON HANDLES CHANGE
April 18, 2008 - Next year is the 20th anniversary of Alan Jackson's first recording contract. Much has changed in that period of time: We've had three presidents, the mullet went out of fashion and the Internet became a part of daily life.Alan has a sort of love/hate relationship with new technologies, and he laughs about it a bit in "I Still Like Bologna," a song on his current Good Time album. He's a bit slow to adapt to the changes, and that's certainly true in the way he hears music."Usually I listen to CDs still," he told the Canadian Press. "I do have one of those little iPod things my girls gave me, and they downloaded a bunch of music on it that I like, but I don't listen to it that much."In fact, Alan can say things are "still" the same in a lot of areas of his life. He's still wedded to the same woman he married 28 years ago, he's still recording with the same producer and many of the same musicians who worked on his first album, and he still enjoys puttering around on car engines at his house. On the other hand, after selling 40 million albums, his bank account is certainly much more stable than when he and wife Denise slept on a used mattress in a basement apartment, so not everything is different."I can't say that I'm still that same guy 100 percent," he admitted. "But I feel like, considering the lifestyle changes I've been through in the last 20 years, I've been pretty good about keeping my feet on the ground."
