These things always seem so cheesy when I write them. I started playing the guitar before I had a clue what I was doing. (I still don’t actually) I used to just wail on my Dad’s electric guitar for hours because I liked the way it sounded when it was turned up loud with lots of effects on it.- I didn’t care whether or not I actually knew how to play, I was more interested in experimenting with sounds - much like I continue to do today.
I have played in many projects over the past 10+ years generally as the guitarist, with styles ranging from Punk - Rock - Dub - Ambient - Hardcore - Jamband - Funk - Avant Garde - etc. Some projects I have been involved with include: Peroxide, Euphoria, Fine American Cheese, Fox, Incite, Still Red, Dr. Balls, BFTLONO, Back Door Lucy, Fuzzy Taco Robot Sanctuary, and of course, the world renowned Tree Wizards.
I first starting experimenting with electronic music when I bought an Electribe EA1 and ER1, in 2002, so that I could write music to perfrom with the bands I was playing with at the time. I was also the same year I heard Aphex Twin and Brian Eno for the first time, and began recording ambient sound.I didn’t actually start recording music on the computer until 2005, and I only knew how to use Garageband. This past year I was introduced to Reason, and I am now composing on the computer for the first time. So the tracks in the player are the first things I have made using Reason (the guitar parts are recorded in GB - sigh). And if you want to recommend other software that you think I should get, let me know, mmkay?I spent the first 25 years of my life living and performing in Upstate New York, but now I live in Portland Oregon with my beautiful girlfriend, who inspires me to create new sounds every day.
I’m currently seeking other Portland musicians interested in performing live electronic music, or any artists looking to collaborate on live Ambient compositions. No mark ass busters please.
Feel free to steal my shit, play it out, mash it up, or tell your friends you made it.
So there you go, that’s it for now...
