About Me

Howdy All!
I wasn't gonna write anything here . . . but then I thought "hey, why not? I really like reading other people's blurbs about what they're up to, so I guess I should write something too." So here goes . . . .
After college I taught preschool for a year (I loved the kids!). Then I worked for the next two years with my old youth group and youth Pastor as the Student Ministries Project Manager . . . I loved that job too! I over saw the interns, assisted in weekly youth group meetings and Sunday school classes, mentored some girls, got to plan all the fun trips and missions trips and do all the promotional material for events! It was a blast . . . but VERY time consuming. After much prayer and consideration I resigned from my position at the church and temped until I found my current job. I now work as a receptionist/admin assistant where I am over paid and under worked. It's great in that it really allows me to leave work at work and I get a lot of our personal stuff done during the day so that when we get home we can relax and have fun. =) I'm also trying out new ways to make money at home, so that when we start our family I can stay home and home school.
Now I am married, and in the words of Emily Cross "Married life is wonderful! And I highly recommend it!"
I married Andrew Wolfe in March 2005. I met him on Christian Cafe, and being that he was a Harvard grad I had to snatch him right up! Our first year of marriage was wonder! We took time off from all our normal commitments and activities (besides 8-5 jobs) just to focus on being married. This year we took lots of weekend get-a-ways and road trips, watched lots of movies including the whole "Friends" series, read all the Harry Potter books and most of the Chronicles of Narnia (my husband does all the voices providing hours of entertainment as he reads to me!), made (almost) weekly trips to Baskin Robin's on Tuesday nights for their $1 scoop night, took lots of walks and had lots of talks on our front porch. We truly treasured our first year of marriage and celebrated it by going to Paris for 10 days. =)
Our future, God willing, holds Andrew writing a book (this year) grad school (for His PHD), missions with Wycliffe as bible translators (Andrew's BA is in Linguistics) and of course kids . . . What order? Who knows! We're just trying to make wise decisions and live life to the fullest. We're really looking forward to getting on the mission field and starting that part of our lives. We're looking forward to a family too . . . but every thing's in it's time.
We love our friends and we love having you over. Please, I stink at correspondence, INVITE YOURSELVES OVER!!! We love having you for dinner, games or a movie . . . or just chill time to talk.
That's all.

My Interests

I love traveling, wine tasting, starbucks, scrapbooking, reading, camping, backpacking, Jazz Clubs and the city, Texas Hold'em, cards, and playing strategy games!! And my slight OCD lends me to enjoying packing and organizing just about anything. =)

I LOVE the rain! I love the smell and sound of rain and the way it makes me feel calm and cuddly. I love waking up with the crisp morning air on my face and shoulders with birds chirping outside. I love intimate meals with my husband. I love fluffy soft slippers, (controlled) fires in doors and out, beaches and the mountains, starbucks, and really really extremely soft things.

I enjoy discovering new things, especially new places. I love doing crazy random things just to do them. I love being quiet. I love listening to my husband sing and play the piano (or guitar) in the quiet of our home as he worships God or sings me a love song. I love God and I love worship. I love the intellectual life full of learning, studying and discussing issues or philosophies with brilliant minds. . . . I even miss college. And I love Missions, drama and acting.

And of course . . .

Paris ~ Jamaica ~ Wedding

Our Weekend getaway to Mendocino (7/06)

I'd like to meet:

No one in particular . . . . . . . BUT, Andrew and I would love to get involved in a couples Bible Study if anyone knows of a good one somewhat locally.

Movies:

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days
Pretty Woman
Grease I & II
The Usual Suspects
Tomb Raider I & II

Television:

We didn't have TV the first year we got married. Then we had it until we moved and now we're without again. We might get it hooked up now that I'm going to be a stay at home mom. When we had it this is what I enjoyed:
*Friends!!!
*CSI (Los Vegas)
*Clean Sweep
*American Idol
. . . and the weirdest channel I like to watch is the *TV guide channel. Don't ask.

Books:

All time favorite from 4th grade: "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler"

His Needs, Her Needs (I HIGHLY recommend this)

And since I've been married I've really enjoyed my husband reading to me in all his wonderful voices the books from the Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter.

Heroes:

Darrel Vaughn
Truet Bobo
Mike and Kim Alexander
and all my stubborn feisty ancestors
