He fights Seiya in the great Martial Arts Tournament and bearly kills Seiya. Turns out he is the one who almost dies after that battle but Seiya saves his life and they become great friends after that. He fights mostly for his friends and for his master more then for Athena but his loyalty to Athena still remains considerable.
