DJ TEKNEEK
The story of Tekneek began in 1972 in Camden, NJ. Growing up, I moved around South Jersey a lot. So much that I ended up attending 4 different highschools. After highschool, I took a few years off before moving to Oregon on a scholarship to play basketball at a community college. Growing up, music was always a passion of mine, and I was always playing around with DJ equipment, but it wasn't until I came out here that I began to take it seriously. DJing is an artform to me, one that should be taken seriously. If you are going to DJ, you should be adept at every aspect of it. It is a slap in the face when someone charges a cover and considers themselves a top notch DJ, yet lacks the knowledge of even the basic fundamentals (mixing/scratching/etc.) I continue to look everywhere possible for inspiration and ways to improve and regularly go back to NY/NJ to get records and see whats hot. Come down to Taboo every damn weekend to catch me spinnin and see what you think for yourself...<
