Audio-Visual Instruments
Performance 7pm, 23 May 2007
Preview 23 May 6-8pm, Exhibition open to 2 June (Wed to Sat, 12 - 5.30pm)
juneau/projects/ have been researching the production of customised musical instruments in collaboration with Midlands based programmer Ben Neal. They have hybridised computer interfaces, such as keyboards and mice, with the shapes of traditional guitar, violin, drum and woodwind instruments. They have developed interactive visual accompaniment to the music, for example, a computer game which is controlled by playing one of the musical instruments.The instruments function as both playable devices and as sculptural objects, and visitors are welcome to play them throughout the exhibition. In a special event juneau/projects/ will be performing with the instruments on 23 May 2007 at 7pm.
