I am here for Friends

About Me

I am a natural born McBean. In my blood surges ridiculous pride, passionate confusion, and bewildered love. My heart is heavy with awareness, my soul is searching for freedom in a smoggy cloud of humanity. I am hoping for the day when our children's lives matter more than our economic success, when being an American means representing the ideals outlined in our Constitution, not consumerist decadence... I am such a friekin' actor that sometimes I don't know what MY motivations are - I get locked into the idea of dreams and forget to take action.

My Interests

Acting, singing, performing, reading, walking, transcending the human experience and embracing the spiritual, accepting the magnificence of self while appreciating the magnificence of others.

I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet people who are passionate about their beliefs, love what they do (or do something they love), contemplate the human condition and find joy in their contemplation - or, at the least, amusement!

Music:

Sometimes I can't handle listening to music because it affects me. I tend to like songs vs. artists, but reggae is usually a safe choice.

Movies:

"29th and Gay" (my film debut - www.29thandgay-themovie.com), "What the Bleep Do We Know", "The Celluloid Closet", "Love, Actually", "Amelie", "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", "Home at the End of the World", "The Color Purple", "Hedwig and the Angry Inch", "The Dark Crystal", "Clueless", "The Matrix (despite Keanu Reeves)", "Beautiful Thing", "Beaches", "Friday" (OK, when I was a stoner...), "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon", "Crash", "Romie and Michelle's High School Reunion", "Mad Hot Ballroom", "Undercover Brotha", "Women on the Edge of a Nervous Breakdown", "Something's Got to Give" "V is for Vendetta"

Television:

The Golden Girls, South Park, Will and Grace (sometimes), I'd rather not watch TV...

Books:

The Spirituality of Imperfection, Oscar Wilde, David Sedaris, Augusten Burroughs - Walking with Scissors, The Mastery of Love, The Four Agreements, Man's Search for Meaning, The Art of Happiness: Conversations with the Dalai Lama, All About Love, Harry Potter, philosophy, religious studies, sci-fi (Anne McCaffery is good), Madeline L'Engle used to be my favorite!, fantasy, I pretty much love to read.

Heroes:

My mother is the most incredible human being I have ever encountered. I am lucky to have her in my life. My dear friend Bryan helped me get sober, lives his life with strength and dignity, and challenges me... He's my hero too.
