DJ Flaco, who is also known by many as Flaco Flash better yet (Ohio's Mixtape Murderer), has been rockin a wide array of crowds since the fall of 1992, at the age of thirteen. As a young boy his father took him to many Latin concerts to see some of the singers and bands that we now refer to as Legends. At a couple of local shows he saw DJ Dan Swift (Danny Rivas) on the turntables and was amazed at how much of a role the DJ played in the show, and the control that they had over the crowd. His father noticed how interested he was in Djing and took DJ Flaco on a trip to New York, where he purchased everything necessary for his son to start djing (two turntables, a mixer, and some headphones).
DJ Flaco lives on the South Side of Lorain, Ohio. During his short term in the military he was stationed in Georgia, Virginia, and Germany. He has also resided in Miami, Puerto Rico, and Louisville, Kentucky, in which he has djed in many diferent events at but, the South Side of Lorain is where he calls home for now.
DJ Flaco is a club and mixtape dj. He specializes in Hip-Hop and Reggaeton, but Dj Flaco doesnt limit himself, he can and will rock any genre of music that is in need. Not only does he dj at clubs, but he has djed everything from concerts, Homecomings, Proms and Weddings to Benefits, and Campaign parties. He has djed alongside some of the best DJs, known locally and worldwide, including but not limited to DJ Scratch Master L, DJ G-Spot, DJ Drama, DJ Dicky and of course The Porter Roc Djs and, Hustle Squad Djz.
As if DJ Flaco hasnt accomplished enough in his life, he also brings more to the table than just being a DJ. He manages solo Hip-Hop artists such as Mach. DJ Flaco also promotes and has thrown shows of his own with well known Hip-Hop and Reggaeton artists.
An undisputed fact is that DJ Flaco is known as Ohios Reggaeton King. He has earned this title because of his Reggaeton Massacre Series, which is one of the #1 selling Reggaeton Mixtapes globally. His Reggaeton Massacre series include the co-signings of some of Reggaetons elite, included are Tego Calderon, Wisin (from Wisin y Yandel), Glory, Jon Erik and Voltio just to name a few. DJ Flaco has opened up for many Reggaeton greats, such as Voltio, Baby Ranks, and Luney Tunes. He also brought Reggaeton sensation Glory to Ohio for the first time. DJ Flaco also has a Reggaeton series Duo Dynamico, which are collaborations with himself and other Reggaeton DJs. He is willing to collaborate with any Dj who supports and is inspired by the Reggaeton Movement.
Back to the Hip-Hop side of things, DJ Flaco has a mixtape series called, Trip down South, with whom he has done collaborations with well known Southern Hip-Hop artists, such as Paul Wall(Houston), and Stat Quo(ATL)and, Yung Joc (ATL). DJ Flaco also has the co signings and support from artist such as Fat Joe, Young Jeezy, Slim Thug, Mike Jones, Sheek Louch, Jay Hood, Peedi Crack and many others.
What I like most about going to see one of DJ Flacos shows is his ability to read his crowd. No matter where hes djing at he knows what they will and won't rock to. He provides a non-stop mixture of New and Classic Hip-Hop, R&B, and Reggaeton tracks. Every now and then he sneaks in a taste of the Classic Tropical sounds of Salsa, Merengue, and Bachata.
Dont get it twisted, DJ Flaco is not just a local DJ, he is internationally known. His cds are heard and distributed around the world. His natural ability to keep his crowds entertained, keeps them coming back for more, whether its coming to his shows or supporting his Mix cds. Once you hear DJ Flaco, he's impossible to forget.
