Yesterdays Promise, the alternative rock band from Phoenix, Arizona has a new gripping sound. They are one of the few bands that refuse to be like every other kind of modern sound thats out there. Founding members Robert Combs (Vocals) and Steve Young (Drums) originated the band in late 2001, initially playing only cover songs. After being a band for several months they started experimenting and writing new material. In mid-2004, Yesterdays Promise was introduced to, who now is the producer of their first album, Jay Kereny. Having a producer was a huge step for Robert and Steve. At this point in time they were only sophomores in high school and had yet to learn everything they now know about the industry and songwriting process.Dedication was never a problem for the two, but finding the same determination in others was difficult. Since the creation of Yesterdays Promise in their eighth grade year, there has been seven people to have come and gone in their career. In early 2005 that all changed after meeting Paul Nevins (Bass). Being in for now a year and a half Paul has contributed to the band's new record in numerous ways. Now that Yesterdays Promise had three official members, it was time they start to really experiment. However, they formerly had a synthesizer in the mix and they were now stuck. Their musicianship could only reach three instuments. That Summer, Yesterdays Promise was introduced to Rob Elizondo (Lead Guitar) and Joey Carranza (Synth). Going through tons of production and writing at this time, these two contributed the world to the music. It seemed like everything was going perfect for Yesterdays Promise. They were almost finished writing all the songs they wanted to put on the album, when they found out that they were going to record them at Cherokee Studios Hollywood, CA. Only to be engineered by some of the greatest of all "The Robb Brothers." Things were really getting exciting for the band now, their dreams were becoming reality more and more everyday.Everything was exactly how it was supposed to be. The sound of the record is a mix of genres that no one has ever heard before. With perfect production and the right amount of time the music is perfect to become the next "big thing."Having a full ten song record, that was just mixed by Toby Wright, they are ready to start touring within a period of just a few months. This is only the beginning for the 18 year old band, Yesterdays Promise.
