About Me

I'm Stephanie, obviously. I grew up in itty bitty Sand Rock, AL, and now I am a sophomore *almost a junior* at The University of Alabama. I am majoring in Secondary Education/Language Arts. I have been planning for years that I would get my Masters in Counseling and become a high school guidance counselor, but after some soul searching, I'm not so sure about that anymore. I love to write, and people tell me I'm good at it. All I know is I love to do it, just like I LOVE to talk! So who knows? Maybe I'll stick with the original plan and teach/be a counselor, or maybe I'll be a copy editor at some huge magazine. I am a band nerd to the core. I play the flute (not greatly, though), I was on colorguard, and then I was drum major for my last three years of high school. I'm back to my old love now, marching colorguard in the MILLON DOLLAR BAND! It's something that I feel honored to be part of, and because of it, I have made AMAZING friends for life (I couldn't name them all!) and some incredible memories. Speaking of friends, I have some great ones! My first friends were the ones I grew up with. Some are still at home, while others are all scattered out at different schools, in the military, and even getting married and having babies! I miss all of them so much! At school, I have made EVEN MORE great friends. I was lucky to get randomly placed with the best roommate in the world, Tiffany, my first year, and I MISS HER! Now, I live with Chey, Jane, and Regan. With four girls in an apartment, there is NEVER a dull moment...ever. We laugh, cry, eat, dance, tell secrets, and stir up trouble together. All these things usually occur on a daily basis. Like I said, we're never bored. I love, love, love my girls! There are some people in my life, though, who have ALWAYS been here: my family. They have loved me unconditionally since the day I was born. Even when I chose friends, boyfriends, or just whatever I wanted over them, they were always there when I came running back with a problem. My dad and stepmom raised me, and even though I get really mad at them sometimes and say and think things I shouldn't, I love them, and I feel blessed to have them. I have a half sister who is ten, almost eleven. I don't get to see her much because she lives with my mom, but she is a SMART girl, and I am very proud of her! I lost a baby brother when I was thirteen, and a year later, I got another little brother. He is a mischevious, wild, BUSY four year old little man. He is, without a doubt, Daddy's little boy, but my dad can hardly keep up with him! I love that kid. He ALWAYS makes me smile. In December, I'll be getting ANOTHER little brother, which is good. My BABY brother will be five soon, and he refuses to let us treat him like a baby, so we're all excited about having a new little person around. I dunno what we'll do when he gets big! (I guess everyone will expect ME to start having babies then! Ahhhhhhh!!!) I can't give my dad ALL the credit for raising me, though. My grandparents have always been a HUGE part of my life, as well as my aunts and uncles. When mom and dad couldn't be there, they always picked up the slack. I live with my mom's parents (when I am home), and my Aunt Susie lives right down the street. I usually find myself sitting at the kitchen table with my grandmother and my aunt laughing, crying, and telling secrets just like I do with my roommates. Those two women are truly my BEST friends. They know EVERYTHING about me, and I mean EVERYTHING! Susie has two kids, Savanna and Luke, and they are more than just cousins to me. They might as well be my little sister and brother. They don't even know what an AMAZING mommy they have. She takes great care of them, their dad, and even ME! When I tell people she's my aunt, they ALWAYS say, "Oh, she's beautiful...inside and out!" That's the truth. I hope that when I am a wife and mother, that I am half as good at it as she is. The most basic thing that anyone should realize about me is that I have a very blessed life. Things go wrong and I get myself into messes all the time, but God put people in my life who are there through thick and thin, and I am so thankful for that. There is so much more to know about me, but I think if someone had enough of an attention span to read all the way down to here, that's pretty great, so I'll stop here.Myspace For Girls Only - MyGirlySpace.com

What I Learned in School This Year

Here it is...the last week of my first year of college. *sigh* So much has happened! I couldn't begin to try to tell the whole story of August through May. The summed up version would take a good hour...
