Tucker Antell

Tucker Antell began playing saxophone at the age of 10, playing professionally by 13 and recording by 16; solo, and again with Jazz veteran Al Galladoro. Learning Clarinet and Flute along the way, he received awards from the Interlochen Arts Academy, Berklee College of Music and even an inaugural award in his own name from his High school alma mater. Mr. Antell attended the University of Michigan for two years, studying with the late master Donald Walden before transferring to the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. There he studied with George Garzone, Jerry Bergonzi, Billy Hart and Cecil McBee, among the many other great musicians who frequent the conservatory. Tucker also had the pleasure of participating in the Dave Holland residency there. In 2009 Tucker received a B.A. from the New England Conservatory.
Currently, Tucker Antell teaches music and performs in numerous bands and ensembles in the New England area, including the Beantown Swing Orchestra, the Fat City Blues Band, Persian Blue, The Zeke Martin Project, Grooveworks funk band, The Back Bay Jazz Quartet, Adam Bartchzak’s Republic and others, as well as his own original material.
