I am here for Friends

About Me

In 1962 I was born, two years later I must have decided that art would be my life, and that the dreary life of the dayjob would be something faked to be appreciated. I have sought after self employment all my life and have been considered a serial job hopper when in fact I was only seeking out a higher realm, a golden mean, a higher chord. At age 7 I discovered my love for music and everything that went with it, apart from playing a musical instrument or evacuating rooms with my singing attempts. So I stuck to the pencils, pens and brushes. At age 15 I became a sign painter and at age 18 I embarked on the practical route to become a graphic designer. But my real love has always been in painting, and dayjobs being what they are, I chose Graphic design as something "I could always fall back on" But along came computer art and all its glittering technology and geeks, there was nothing left to fall back on. Only something to be gleefully part of, reading manuals and keeping up to date... sigh... yawn. In all honesty it wasted my time, all I wanted to do was rock posters (illustration) and paint. So my life has been a myriad of practical, adventurous and psychadelic art ventures. Currently I have compiled over 30 oil and acrylic paintings in the past two years. I live in Australia and I escape to sanity in my studio as much as I possibly can.

My Interests

Rising above mediocrity at all costs, lots of travel, bodysurfing, good food and wine, physical fitness, reading a good book, listening to only good music, trashing bad music, sleeping in, dreaming, creating.

I'd like to meet:

Dennis Hopper (cus not only is he an amazing actor but his art rocks), Gnarles Barkely (Because there is a song about Dennis Hopper), Tom Robbins (I've read all but one of his books), Gotye, John Butler, Bob Masse, Tim Blake, Steve Hillage, Tom Waits, Moby (again), Beck, David Suzuki (again),Al Gore, William S Burroughs and Floyd Red Crow Westerman (on the other side)

Music:

Lots of indie music, hardly any pop music played on bad pop radio, house, hip hop, acid, americana, latin, blues, roots, world... just plain old good music.

Movies:

Fight Club, Oh Brother Where art Thou, American Beauty, Waking Life, Scanner Darkly, Donnie Darko, Fast Food Nation, Inconvenient Truth, 24 Hour Party People
