My Interests

Books, good film, music, travel, the ongoing experiment that is Toronto, theatre, politics, , CHOCOLATE :), intelligent conversation, good food, dancing with wild abandon with my lost boys, the potential for lasciviousness and mild transgression, Brazil!

Music:

Raised on jazz, stax and motown. Right now, I would like to follow Will Holland around, though Jeremy Ellis may just have supplanted him as my current "god" ;). I do love syncopation and shuffle, also minimal techno, but sweet deep house is my gospel these days; quantic and QSO, manitoba, bonobo, antibalas (live), one giant leap, vinicius, bach or satie in the morning, boozoo bajou, fela and femi kuti, talib kweli, de phazz, gerardo frisina, rise ashen, that one llorca album, talking heads, clash, ben allison, miles, nina, good dub, stereolab, prince, bjork, the soft pink truth, dandy warhols at the right time, stuff that bss and co try, hocus pocus! and joni, jimi, spiritualized, stevie, otis, lou, caravanserail, and things that make me dance, dance, dance (like steve bug, derrick may, joe claussell, dimitri, mstrkrft, mr v and on and on)

Movies:

Almodovar, Cocteau, Fellini, Tavernier, Ferreri, Jarmusch, Guest, Costa Gavras, Henry Jaglom, Anderson, Diva, eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, truly madly deeply, smoke, pulp fiction, tempopo, glengarry glen ross, rouge, orphee, lamerica, ascenseur pour l'echafaud, five obstructions, hellzapoppin, rushmore, nuevas reinas, the spikes, the way richard linklater sort of channels eric rohmer, tony gatlif (see - and hear - Exils!!)

Television:

gone but still loved: arrested development, oz, blackadder (elizabethan years), abfab, twitch city. still here, still good: simpsons,and now: , shameless, little britainNo reality shows PLEASE!
