As a concert promoter, I am always cautious as to whom I let have the stage, spotlight, or authority to minister when it comes to booking concerts. I always ask myself the question, "who and what am I promoting?" What I do I want to do with integrity and as an opportunity that at least one person can be reached, be ministered to, be set free, and most of all be saved!

When a booking agent contacted me in regards to Kathleen Carnali, I was a bit skeptical as I typically am with artist I don’t know yet. As I spoke with him, I realized he really believed what he was telling me about Kathleen and usually, those are tricks I can see through. He directed me to her website www.kathleencarnali.com where I decided to give her a chance. As I got on her sight, her music began to play. The first song was called "Jesus Over Me," where Kathleen pours out her heart that it's not for herself to receive the glory for what she does, but for the Lord Jesus to receive it all! I immediately began to hear her heart and passion in the words of the music and by the time I came through the first few songs, I knew I was dealing with a real, spirit-led worshipper. After confirming it with the church, I booked Kathleen Carnali to play Dwelling Place.

On Sunday at 4:00 AM in the morning, my cell phone rings it's loud Disciple ring tone. It was Kathleen and she had just gotten into town from doing a concert in VA Beach. I got myself together and went out to the church to meet her. After our formal introduction, I took her to where she was staying. A few hours went by and then it was time for church. Since the booking was sort of last minute, I had only contracted her to do 2 - 3 songs. The worship team started things off with two hot songs that got everyone going and focused.

Not interrupting the flow of worship or what the Holy Spirit was doing, Kathleen stood up to minister. She started things out with the song "Crucified" that is based off the scripture Galatians 2:20. I got goose bumps as she sang the chorus of "I am crucified with Christ and nevertheless I live." Immediately things in my life that had not been crucified with Christ were exposed, and I found myself in a place of repentance before the Cross. From there, Kathleen moved to the keyboard where she led us into a place of worship before the King of kings. As she poured out her heart and gift before the Lord in which He has so richly blessed her, the Spirit was stirring in ways too powerful to comprehend! In fact, our Pastor never even preached the message he had prepared to preach! Instead, he made a call for prayer for those who needed ministry while Kathleen continued to worship. I was one who needed that prayer and found myself in tears as I began to be set free by crucifying those things in my life to the cross that have never been put to death. The work that was going on was definitely God! But as a worship leader myself, you begin to recognize the anointing on someone’s life who is submitted unto God and that is who God longs to partner with. I am so glad He was able to partner with Kathleen that day. Though her abilities are amazing, I was able to see Jesus over her and He surely received the glory due His name from all who were present. After a few more songs and prayers the service ended, but the Holy Spirit kept on going.

From there, I was able to spend some more time with Kathleen over a late lunch. What I found in her was a genuine and real person. Someone wholly devoted to God and not at all entangled in the mess of the music industry. Some may call her a singer/songwriter, I call her a worship leader/minstrel. She also taught me that just because good opportunities come, it doesn't always mean that they are from God and I needed to hear that more than anything.

I'm so glad that we were able to have Kathleen worship with us and minister to us. She has become a part of our family and we will definitely be having her back in the future. Not only did I make another music connection, but also I met an awesome sister in the Lord and made a great friend! I highly recommend Kathleen to anyone looking for a worshipper who is genuinely and authentically real! It's not because of Kathleen, but because she is hidden with Christ. Jesus was seen over her and was seen by all. She was just the partner the Lord wanted to stand with and is still standing with her as she ministers around the country and the world.
