Highway Hi-Fi started in the summer of 2002 when singer / song writer and guitarist Jeremy Stoltz ran into up-right bassist, Jeff Beck at a record store in Lancaster. Jeremy had just finished a long stint with Lancaster's popular rock n' rollers "The Bad Luck Charms" while Jeff was playing in a lesser known band called "The Sleepers". Fueled by their passion and mutual love for chicago blues, rockabilly, punk rock and of course ROCK N' ROLL, the duo began writing original music they called Punk Blues. Rounding out the band would be drummer and back up vocalist, Dave Spink who at the time, was also playing in The Sleepers. From there Highway Hi-Fi spent the next year down in Jeff's basement writing and practicing what would become their trademark sound of mixing punk, blues and rockabilly. The following year would prove to be more than they had expected as their music took them all over the Mid-Atlantic region playing clubs in New York, Deleware, Baltimore, Virginia, D.C. and Pennsylvania. Their return to Central Pennsylvania found them in the studio for their first release, a four song EP entitled "Alien Nation" engineered and recorded by John McGinnley of Watercourse Sound.Almost 4 years later Highway Hi-Fi continues to take the East Coast by storm with their eclectic mix of roots music. They continue to play out as much as possible and have just finished the recording and mixing of their first full length "The Dead Years" due out soon.Be sure to check out Highway Hi-Fi in a bar, club, dico-tech, roller rink, or alley near you.
