In other words, if you don't know me, you should know that this is pretty much all inside stuff between me and people who do know me...
I don't do anything normal. I work weird and changing hours and days, I am fanatical about the sports teams I like, and I am reeeeally into international and domestic law and politics, but I can't name any song written after 2000 or so. Against my mother's wishes, after passing the bar exam I became an underpaid agent for social justice instead of whatever it is all my law school classmates are doing from 9-5. I seldom listen to music or go to movies, not because I don't like to, I just do other stuff instead. I used to be a Mitch Hedberg fan... I still am, but I used to also. I sometimes remind people of television's Becker, or of Toby from the West Wing. I like crossword puzzles.
I've decided to start playing with my neglected little blog again. A word of warning, you might learn something (the blog here is my fun blog, the other one is about serious stuff)...

My Interests

International and domestic law and politics, sports, reading, hanging out in little bars around my neighborhood, video games, ninjas, etc. Tossing the ball around with the Chi Town Lacrosse Club .

Who said I'd like to meet anybody? I can barely remember the people I already know...

Music:

I don't really listen to music, more of an NPR guy, but I usually like classic rock and alternative.

Of course, though, anyone who knows me knows that before Kim came along I was a sucker for assassin type women and "Rescue Me":Anyway, seeing this video makes me like that song even more...

Movies:

Yes. I like The Big Lebowski, Office Space, Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums, Old School, Snatch, Zoolander, Guilty by Suspicion, Great Expectations, Serpico, Carlito's Way, Good Night and Good Luck, and The Muppets Take Manhattan. That's it. I like no other movies whatsoever...

Television:

The West Wing, The Simpsons, The Boondocks, Futurama, Family Guy, ATHF, Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law, Starved, Rescue Me, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, 30 Days, Tavis Smiley, PTI, Sportscenter... I also enjoy the C-SPAN

Books:

Nothing anybody's ever heard of... I do like literature, from Homer to Borges, but mostly I read stuff like Mullet's "Fundamental Law and the American Revolution: 1760-1776" and other random things I buy at that little used book store on Clark and Wellington.

Heroes:

Richard Gere's a real hero of mine. Sting. Sting would be another person who's a hero. The music he's created over the years, I don't really listen to it, but the fact that he's making it, I respect that.
