Have Bass will travel!!

About Me

You can usually catch me holding down the groove for Bacci, Sabrina & Giorgio, or Tinted Image. When we're not gigging then I'm performing with a little bit of anybody from Eastman cats to a local Blues band. Free time, what's that, will have me back on the VFR for the summer! I'm as laid back as they get. I enjoy life and everything about it because each day is unique.

My Interests

Music, playing bass, philosophy, cultural studies, salsa dancing, cars, motorcycles, dogs.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone with interests. I'm into music but I certainly don't limit myself and I am always open to the opinions of others. We can all learn from each other if we take the time to listen.

Music:

Right now I'm listening to: Stevie Wonder-A time to Love. The Neville Brothers-Walkin' in the shadow of Life, Rumba Club-Espiritista, Autorickshaw-Four Higher, Guru-Jazzmatazz Vol.2 and of Course Bacci-More.

Movies:

Crash! Plenty more on the list, just don't have time.

Television:

Right now I'm hooked on Black/White. If you can get past the typical reality TV crap I think that everyone can relate to this show on different levels. Of course you know I'm dialed into March Madness and getting ready for the NBA playoffs!

Books:

The Alchemist-Paulo Coehlo, Islam, a very short introduction-Malise Ruthven, The Art of Loving-Erich Fromm, Simplicity Made Simple, the Economics of Compassion-Richard Shiningthunder Francis, African American Jazz and Rap, Social and Philisophical Examinations of Black Expressive Behavior-James L. Conyers, Jr., Effortless Mastery-Kenny Werner, Thinking Jazz-Paul Berliner, Improvisation, It's Nature and Practice in Music-Derek Bailey, Feel the Fear and Do it Anyway-Susan Jeffers, The Bible.

Heroes:

My mother, Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks (RIP) Larry Graham, James Jamerson, Charles Mingus, Bob Macadoo and Shima.

The World is a Rhythm Section

Lately I've been making a point to hear as much live music as my schedule will allow. Tonight I attended a jazz concert at our local community college. I've always understood music to be a language co...
