About Me

12 Grand was born January 16 1974, in a town just outside of Philadelphia PA. At a young age he was relocated to Southern California, Ventura County to be exact. Throughout his childhood he was moved around every couple years. Sometimes it was every couple of months. Obviously he was not living a rich lifestyle. In 1982 12 Grand became a B-Boy. One might think what kind of eight year old kid is a real B-Boy? Let me tell you, Ocean Avenue produced some talented people. Anyway, fast forward to 1987. 12 Grand, Still just known as Charles K Tuel II (govt. name), writes his first full “rap song”. It was definitely nothing to write home about now, but back then, it was fresh. At this point no one is a B-Boy, because somehow in this area it wasn’t cool anymore. But 12 Grand still kept his feet and mind moving. In high school 12 Grand links up with D-Tragic and JD to be “Inner soul” That was the name of their dance crew. At this point it’s 1989 and 12 Grand moves back to Pennsylvania. The differences from Southern California and any of the Northeastern States are huge. However, being stuck in the snow helps to keep one out of trouble, and provides plenty of time to write. As if being the only white boy in the Black Students Union wasn’t enough. He had to destroy the microphone lyrically at the B.S.U. dance. By the amazement of the crowd and their reaction he was stunned. From that point solidified 12 Grand’s decision to pursue a career in Hip-Hop. In 1991, 12 Grand moves back to Cali, where now D-Tragic is a DJ, which works perfectly. Very soon after moving back, 12 Grand links up with this one rapper cat, and starts working shows. Shortly after that POK DOG joins the duo and now there’s a group called the boot knoxxx. 12 Grand was in that group for the length of one radio interview on KCSB Santa Barbara. At that time however, 12 was getting on shows with The LootPack, on some ol’ Willie Davis Promotions. Come 1993, he was in a group with a cat named Tyshan. The group was called T-N-T or Tyshan and Twelve Grand. That didn’t last long. Once again, fast forward to 1996. 12 Grand decided to move back to his hometown. Stayed there for a while and followed another dream, to become a professional wrestler. 12 G became Scotty Alcohol the champion of the World Wrestling Union. Once his father died he did what was asked of him. Go back to Hip-Hop. “Shit, I never left.” Anyway, 2003 12 G Moves Back to Ventura County and starts working for D-Tragic at 805hiphop.com. Tragic Introduced 12 Grand to A lot if heads. And re-introduced him to some old school heads as well. Thanks to him 12 Grand was able to be in A video for Earthquake Institute – Super B-Boy Pimpin’. Shortly after this he was in an independent film titled “In Your Eyes”. 12 Grand also makes an appearance in the videos Earthquake Institute – Swerve, and Malverde – Aqui Estamos featuring Aro Sanchez. After a couple of years he decided that it was his turn to take Hip Hop back to where it should have been going in the first place. While doing a show at The Loft, Geezus linked up with Filiblunt. After a couple years, and a few friends begging for a collaboration of the two, they link up after 12 Grand featured on the album Spinobi presents… The Muddy Mud Skippers. One year later in 2008, The Late Shift. Go pick it up in stores or online now….To be continued…
