Anything to do with the outdoors..
I could go on and on...
I LOVE to watch movies! My favorites are any of the animated Pixar type movies like Finding Nemo, a Bug's Life, Toy Story, Monster's Inc., and Cars. I like to see all of the artistry and creativity that goes into those movies, and you can tell that those artists really love what they do. I know they're mostly meant for little kids, but I just think they're really cute, creative, and funny. I love Disney movies too, I always have ever since I was little. I like romantic comedies like How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days, and Failure To Launch. I'm a big Robin Williams fan, Patch Adams and What Dreams May Come are 2 of my top favorite movies (What Dreams May Come STILL makes me cry). I love sappy mushy movies like The Notebook. I like artsy films like Girl With a Pearl Earring, Pollock, and The Red Violin. I like oriental based movies like Memoirs of a Geisha, Hero, The Last Samurai, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (which all have very beautiful soundtracks btw). I like mystery and adventure movies like National Treasure and Tomb Raider...pretty much the only ones that I don't really like are cheesy horror movies (House of 1000 Corpses is probably the LAMEST movie I have ever seen in my life), and movies that are just too serious.
I really don't watch a lot of telelvision. I have too many hobbies and interests, and things that I'd rather be doing than being a couch potato! There are a few channels that I'll watch every now and then though. I like to watch TLC, Discovery, Animal Planet, Home and Garden, and the Food Network channel. And dammit, I'll admit, I do get suckered in when VH1 has those I Love The "__'s" shows...those are hilarious! Basically, if I DO watch tv, I like things that are interesting and stimulating, or funny
I'll be the first to admit that I'm a HUGE book nerd! I'll read pretty much anything that I can get my hands on, and my bookcase is overflowing with books of all types. I love books about artists and their lives and work. I like some science fiction, I have a lot of Stephen King books. I like classical literature, and books that were my favorites as a child (C.S. Lewis' series, The Secret Garden, A Wrinkle In Time, Man O' War, and of course Tolkien). I read romantic poetry, and I'm really fond of Greek and Roman mythology, Ovid's Metamorphoses is one of my favorites. I like some playwrights, Tennessee Williams is my favorite. East of Eden is my favorite book of all, by Steinbeck. I'm the type of person that could easily, enjoyably, get lost in a bookstore. I just think that there's so much in this world to learn about, one way or another, and books are a great way to accomplish that...and I hope that I never stop learning. I treasure books
I have a few artists that were always inspirational to me. I don't have a favorite artist, but I think that one of the most inspiring that I've ever learned about is the painter Chuck Close.
