I DIDN'T COME HERE & I AIN'T LEAVIN'!!!

About Me

If I tell you everything it will take 51+ years with periodic updates. So I guess I'd better paraphrase: I was born & raised in Denton Co. Tx. . I've been makin' racket on stuff as long as I can remember. Played my 1st gig at 15, $40 for playin' Bass at a VFW! I played music professionally from the early 70s to the early 90s. I consider myself a Bass, Guitar, &Pedal Steel player. I can "make racket " on Banjo, Mandolin, Dobro, Lapsteel, & Keyboards. Thank GOD for punch-ins! I guess I just ain't dumb enough to be a Drummer! (Did you hear the one about GOD? He thinks he's Buddy Rich!) Alright , drummers, don't get mad at me, I'm just jokin! You ought to be used to it by now. I've had a wonderful life ( If you don't count the Divorces , Bad Habits, Economic Downturns" & The thousands of road miles I've Logged) I wouldn't change a thing , though. I guess my claim to Fame , If I have one , is playing in the houseband at Billy Bobs' TexasNightclub in Ft. Worth, Tx. I worked with Singer/songwriter Jerry Max Lane there for over 5 years , got to open for most of the country stars of the era. Some of the stars I actually backed (not all at BBT) Including: Ray Price (Branson, Mo.) , Hank Thompson(BBT) , Earl Thomas Conley (BBT) , Charlie Rich (BBT) , Chuck Berry (BBT) , Willie Nelson (New Orleans ,Austin) , Charlie Pride (BBT). I could go on, BUT a lot of people don't believe me anyway, so let's just say: "I've been around a bit", OK? I moved to Arkansas in 1989 and became a fishing guide on the world famous White River , while still playing music in the local theaters, clubs & studios. I met my lovely wife in 1991. We had a beautiful daughter (Angel) in 1999. I retired in 2001 and became a stay at home dad. I continue to play music as a hobby & have my own personal studio (Hillbilly Heaven). THANX for stopping by. May your GOD bless you,dg
