I'm definitely interested in sports and travel. The love of travel comes from being a "military brat". Every chance that I get, I'm on the road going somewhere. My parents only had girls but I think that rooted inside me is the boy that my dad always wanted. I love watching football, basketball, and boxing. Hell. I won't lie I might even watch a little golf and hockey every once in a while.
Right off the top I would have to say that I would LOVE to meet Stevie Wonder. So many of us have it pretty good but we'll complain about the simple things. Stevie has been blind for YEARS and continues to appreciate life. We need to step back, evaluate our situations and realize that there are so many other people out there that have it worse off.
I listen to a little bit of everything (R&B, Hip Hop, Reggae or "Oldies but Goodies"). Right now I'm stuck on ATL (Jeezy, T.I., Dro, Joc, D4L, Dem Franchize Boyz, etc.)
I'm a sucker for love and R&B so I'm definitely feeling Mary J. Blige, Avant, Ginuwine, Tank, etc.
Don't be mad, but I like Chris Brown too. He's cute as hell and FINALLY 18. And yeah, I CAN RUN IT! Let me stop. I forgot I'm a grown ass woman : )
My people in NY would definitely blast me if I forgot up north so I must mention that I do listen to Busta, Hova, Papoose, Dipset, 50, and so many more.
My favorite movie is The Last Dragon. What you know about that glow? Some of my other favorites are Scarface, Man on Fire, Juice, Fresh, and Menace to Society.
I'm going to school to obtain my Nursing degree so I'm kind of obsessed with all shows that have a medical connection...Forensic Files, The Critical Hour, Grey's Anatomy, Trauma - Life in the ER, Paramedics, and Diagnosis: Unknown.
Every once in a while I'll get into autobiographies of different people. Outside of that I'm normally reading Ann Rule or E. Lynn Harris books. Of course the one book that always stays in my presence is the Bible. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the Man above.
My parents. They are two living examples of how you can go from not having sh*t to having just about everything that you want. Some of my other heroes are Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, and Rosa Parks. Being African-American can be a struggle within itself but these Civil Rights leaders went against the grain and made things easier for the younger African-American generation in this present time. If these people aren't heroes then I'm not sure who would be.
