Melissa Liane Dyer a beautiful bouncing baby girl was born November 30th 1983, a beautiful sunny day to mother Evelyn Rose and father Livingstan Dyer at the Jubilee hospital. She was raised in a Community by the name of Grants Pen in Kingston; there she went to Elim Basic School and then she moved on to New Day All- Age where she was successful in her Common Entrance Exam, from there she started attending Ardenne High School. Ever since she was a child she had a remarkable love for all types of music. She grew up listening to Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, Beenie Man, Bounty Killa, Goofy, Alley Cat, Ricky General, Lady Saw, Lady Patra, and Nadine Suttherland, just to name a few artistes that evolved out of Jamaica. After leaving high school Melissa entered the working field where she did quite a few sales job, which she was good at because of her “sweet mouth”, she did telemarketing, customer service, door to door sales, u name it, she also started her own grocery shop in the Country and she also sold clothes on the side, however none of these jobs gave Melissa that marvelous feeling she felt while doing music. Melissa wrote a lot of poems growing up, most of which she turned into songs. When she wrote her songs she would tell her friends about it and they would all get so excited about the song stating how much they love the songs and how good it sounds, this was a form of encouragement that resulted in Melissa entering in the Music industry. She was a natural and she had a passionate love for music. She wrote her songs from her heart and she voiced them not from her lips but also her heart. As a child growing up Melissa was called Mel-Mel but never liked the name until she was an adult. She is a talented young lady that today as an artiste calls herself Mel-Mel. As a female Mel-Mel realize that it can be very hard in the music industry and that it is going to take a lot of hard work and perseverance and patience to reach to the top. She is willing to give it that one hundred percent and is determination that is going to assist her in reaching to the top.
