About Me

i'm a 27 year old songwriter playing in a folk rock band called Poor Rich Folk . If you know me though, then you most likely know that. i have a black lab named Jack Bauer who i think may be the best dog God's made yet. i have a few really good friends, and an amazing family. i'm involved with mission work in Cap Haitien, Haiti and have been for about 8 years. i love music, especially acoustic music, coffeehouses, writing, mixed martial arts fighting (watching, not participating), ultimate frisbee (participating, not watching) and traveling. i've become increasingly convicted over the last 6 months or so that my place is among the poor. it's a fairly inescapable conviction. i know that because i resisted it for so long. i'm a Christian. hopefully not one of those though that scares other people away. the truth is, God and i don't even get along a lot of the time. i tend to argue with Him quite a bit. but, all said and done, He usually ends up being right...like 9 times out of..9..ish. also, i blog here.

My Interests

music. movies. Haiti. Fortress. song-writing. reading. traveling. occasionally hacking sack. ultimate. mma fighting. various other obscure sports.

I'd like to meet:

lots of folks. i'd like to meet just about any songwriter whose lyrics really challenge me in my own song-writing. bob dylan. neil diamond. people who are willing to question the way things are, and change them...now i don't mean weird anarchist people...i mean believers, who can take a real look at the church and the life of a Christian, and acknowledge the simple fact that maybe not all of our traditions are necessarily necessary, and then be a part of making the necessary changes. also. this guy. i really really wanna meet this guy.

Music:

music excites me. truly. i get really worked up.

Movies:

i used to wanna make movies. now i don't. now i just like watching them. good ones at least.

Television:

there are shows i love far more than i should. i'm trying to stop wasting so much time watching tv.

Books:

i like books that have the ability to ruin my life. i'm not a novel reader, though i wish i was.

Heroes:

people who challenge me.
