My Interests

I love smiling and laughing and all things joyful. I'm very easily amused, but I think that's a good thing; I'd hate to go through life without the ability to see the humor in the little things. People always say that God has a sense of humor, but rarely laugh when they are the butt of His jokes. I pray that I will always see and appreciate His humor, because if we can't laugh at ourselves, we have no right to laugh at anyone else...and who wants to go through life without laughing at people? :)

~ I love Jesus.
~ I love smiling. (Smiling's my favorite)
~ I love playing piano.
~ I love my guitar, but I wish I had more time for her.
~ I hate going to the gym, but I'm always happy once I'm there.
~ I love when Katie explains what happens when you tie floss around a june bug's head.
~ Flip flops make me happy.
~ Finding awesome jeans for $16 makes me extremely happy.
~ Meeting new people makes me happy (if you know me, you know how true that really is.)
~ I don't care whether you're laughing with me or at me, as long as you're laughing.
~ Even if no one ever hears my songs, I'll still continue to write.
~ Sometimes I have a song title before the actual song.
~ Obscure movie quotes bring joy to my heart.
~ My favorite game is Bottle Top Wars with 5-foot nothin' (100 and nothin) Mexican twins. (yes, there must be twins and they have to be Mexican...both of them.)
~ Orange lights up my life.
~ I LOVE snow!
~ I don't mind heat, as long as it's dry.
~ The only way to truly appreciate skittles is when they're flying at your face.
~ I like irony (I have an un-finished doll house from years ago, and the box says "Mansion in Minutes"...like God's version of "minutes"?)

You Are Snow
Magical yet potentially destructive
You are well known as fun to play with
People anticipate your arrival but then are quickly sick of you

You are best known for: your serenity

Your dominant state: reflecting What Type of Weather Are You?

I'd like to meet:

Lemony Snicket

Music:

Cap'n Geech and the Shrimp Shack Shooters

Movies:

Chaz is my hero, and Ryan is my favorite villan! ;)
I'm a pretty bad judge when it comes to movies, and have no right to be offended when people call my collection "lame". Stuff like American Beauty that everyone else seems to love I don't really like, but stuff that's really pretty bad I enjoy. I rarely cry in movies (I think there have been three), so it bothers me when people tell me that a movie will make me cry (like The Notebook...didn't really get that into it). I do like "good" stuff too, though. I love old stuff like Goonies, Rudy, Memphis Belle (this Sean Astin theme is completely unintentional), and REALLY old stuff like Twelve O'Clock High, White Christmas, and Holiday Inn. Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: the Movie, Office Space, Napoleon Dynamite, Benchwarmers, and anything else that will make water come out of my nose makes me happy. I love Wallace and Grommit! Indiana Jones brings joy to my heart, along with any other movie that allows me to win the "I've Been There" game. I LOVE Shrek, so if you're in the credits for any of the three, my heart is yours. ;)
I do NOT do scary movies of any kind. (Scary = über suspenseful, bloody, horror, stuff flying at the camera...whatever) Even previews scare me. I just can't handle them! But that's ok, because very rarely can anyone handle seeing them with me, given all the adrenaline-pumped hand/arm/leg squeezing. Even Wallace and Grommit, the Curse of the Warerabbit had me clinging to my sister for dear life!
Is it weird that there's so much explanation involved?

Television:

NUMB3RS

Books:

My Bible; Anything by Alexandre Dumas, Jane Austen, and Baroness Emmuska Orczy; Lemony Snicket's "A Series of Unfortunate Events;" books about WWII; and books about the Middle East. Currently reading Alexandre Dumas' "The Women's War" about the Fronde and the women who ran it (and yes, I know a book should be underlined.)

Lately I've been finding owners manuals very entertaining.

Heroes:

Charlie Epps, and the Baudelaire Orphans

My parents' 35th anniversary was today (the 10th). Not only is it great for them that they've been married for so long, but it's awesome for my sisters and me that our parents are still together. (The...

The Length God Goes To (to which God goes?)

It's funny, the lengths we make God go to in order to finally get across something He's trying to teach us. (Keep in mind this is "sad" funny; not "haha" funny.) I guess it's a good thing that wo...

Nothing exciting, just me being content...and way longer than anyone will care to read

This is the third time I've tried to start this stupid blog, but as you can see, I deleted the first two.  They both ended up sounding all complainy and whiny, and I don't like that. While I myse...

Thank Goodness for Instruction Manuals!

There are a number of things about which my dad and I tease each other, all in good fun.  One of these things is whether or not it is important to read instruction manuals. I would think that t...

Bad news

There's nothing to make a day complete like bad news.  Nobody likes giving bad news, and very few enjoy giving it.  But let me ask you this: is it worse to receive bad news when the bearer ...

SO ready to leave! (Q-zie, don't read this till you come)

What am I doing up at 4 in the morning writing a blog, you may ask?  Well I'll tell you: it's because I can't sleep.  This isn't just your typical "because I can't sleep" sleepless night, t...

You say you're from Oklahoma?

1. It doesn't bother you to use an airport named for a man who died in a plane crash.2. You can properly pronounce Eufaula, Tecumseh, Okemah, Chickasha, and the easiest to mis-pronounce: Durant.3. ...
