When Miya was 5 years old, her mother took her to an audition for
Black Hair Magazine. The article was to feature little African American girls,
and how to take care of their hair. She was hired for the photo right away.
While taking the photographs the photographer told her mother, that she
was the cutest girl that he has shot and she had a captivating personality
to match. This was the beginning of this extraordinary woman's career.As her career progressed, she did small ads here and there and performed
in the grammar school and high school plays, talent shows, and fashion
shows. After graduating high school, she went on to college, at the
Art Institute in Philadelphia, PA. during that time, she escorted a friend to
an audition for a music video. The director took one look at her and hired her
on the spot. The video was for Rap Star Fabolous and the director was none
other then Little X. One of music videos most celebrated music video
directors. During Miya’s music video career, she's worked with countless

She was a feature video actress in over 40 videos, and featured in numerous
magazines. She was the lead actress in Twista’s Overnight Celebrity, which
earned her a nomination for the Vibe Video Vixen of the year award in 2004.
Music video director Erik White says "Her lips are like two ripe strawberries
and she works the camera with 'em. She knows how to look innocent and
naughty at the same time."But music videos weren't enough, to satisfy her dreams. Miya is a talented,
passionate, charming, alluring, engaging woman that needed an outlet for all
of these wonderful traits. She wanted to share her passion with everyone
who was interested, so she chose acting as a vehicle to accomplish this.
Miya and her mother packed up all the clothes they could take, and moved
to Los Angeles, CA. She immediately started auditioning and was hired for
several comedy sketches for the BET Awards and Mtv’s Wild-N-Out,
in addition to several extra roles. She soon after began working with film
director Jean Claude Lamar in two of his independent films. With the
encouragement of her close friend Quentin Tarantino, who saw great
potential in her, Miya decided to take acting classes. She is currently
attending The Tasha Smith Actors Workshop (TSAW) and is a member
of the IMDB actor’s community. Through hard work, Miya eventually earned
her way into AFTRA and has also become SAG eligible. There is no stopping
