HAND GRENADE SERENADE

Still on probation

About Me

..
..A good 25+ years ago a child was born on the mean streets of Sao Paulo Brazil. He learned street life from gang leaders in the tuffest neighborhoods, he learned jiu jitsu to survive, and the Amazon tribesmen took him in as their own and called him "the white annaconda" (after seeing him naked). At thirteen that child found himself in the middle of a tribal gang war. Fearing for his life, his family fled the country to The United States.
Forced to adapt to a new culture, the chosen one had to learn a new language and new set of values. His ruff and tumble street attitude was too much for the school systems of America.... but he soon found out they were perfect for Rock and Roll!
That golden child is infact Genesis... the guitar God of Hand Grenade Serenade. And thats one to grow on.
HGS-formed 3 years ago as a folk punk band. Got an electric lineup, released 2 demo's and appeared on one comp "Asbestos Records More Bang For Your Buck". Went on a 2 week tour of the southern states. After returning The Hand Grenade Serenade merged with half of The American Infidels and released "A BLack Market Band". HGS continue to tour and promote "A BLack Market Band" and are currently writing a follow-up album.Feel free to contact us through MySpace about booking or send an email to [email protected]*The Hand Grenade Serenade*

Sounds Like: "HGS are decidedly less hooky than the last time I saw them, with most of their songs meandering into a turgid sonic mush." - Stephen Chupaska of The New London Day

"Hand Grenade Serenade's overt Clash-isms aren't as apparent live as they are on their CD, and the first comparison that popped into my head with them was Dillinger Four, which is what I almost always think when I hear a band that mixes politics with pop punk. Their best songs, though, have these cool 90's emo-type parts with some metal breakdowns mixed in, and are like a cross between Texas Is The Reason and Man Without Plan, seriously."- Brushback of onebaseonanoverthrow.com
