About Me

I will be gone this summer working for my college (Nebraska Christian College) going to different camps all over the midwest, so I probably will only get to check my MySpace once a week at the very most, so if I don't get back to you, sorry.

I go to Nebraska Christian College and am majoring in Biblical Exegesis and am going to be a minister of some sort. I am from Norton, Kansas, but am in Omaha (Papillion) going to school right now. I love music, art, being around other people, and most of all God.

Faith + Society

Check this out. It's the first chapter in the book Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. It's really interesting and it just might whet your appetite for this book (which would be a good thing).

Click here to watch an amazing video of Aaron Weiss talking about a lot of things such as forgiveness, his faith, his music, etc.

This video is a clip from one of Rob Bell's Nooma videos. He's talking about the things we have and he puts it in perspective of other people in the world. It's interesting and makes me more thankful for how much I have.

Check this website out to see how rich you are on a global scale.

Quotes

"The truth is never sexy."

-Derek Webb

"Ultimately our gift to the world around us is hope. not blind hope that pretends everything is fine and refuses to acknowledge how things are. But the kind of hope that comes from staring pain and suffering right in the eyes and refusing to believe that this is all there is. It is what we all need - hope that comes not from going around the suffering but from going right through it."

-Rob Bell

"There is a sufficiency in the world for man's need but not for man's greed."

-Mohandas Gandhi

"Few people are interested in a religion that has nothing to say to the world and offers them only life after death, when what people are really wondering is whether there is life before death."

-Shane Claiborne

"Passion about nothing is like pouring gasoline in a car without wheels. It isn't going to lead anybody anywhere."

-Donald Miller

"There are lots of things which your conscience might not call definitely wrong (specially things in your mind) but which you will see at once you cannot go on doing if you are seriously trying to be like Christ. For you are no longer thinking simply about right and wrong; you are simply trying to catch the good infection from a Person. It is more like painting a portrait than like obeying a set of rules. And the odd thing is that while in one way it is much harder than keeping rules, in another way it is far easier."

-C.S. Lewis

Music

This is the video for the song Stitches by Haste The Day from their new CD, Pressure the Hinges.

My Interests

I am interested by many things.
I love beautiful things, especially music and art because they are phenomenal forms of expression that move the soul in a way that words alone never could.
I am very interested in learning, and I read a lot of books on theology and politics (when you think about it, the two are intertwined: what you believe about God affects how you live [at least it should] and how you live determines how you interact with other people, and politics is "the total complex of relations between people living in society" [Merriam-Webster's]).
I also love hanging out with friends and having a good cup of coffee or tea.

I'd like to meet:

See heroes...(I've met all of them and know 2 of them pretty well), Lloyd Christmas, MeatWad (from Aqua Teen Hunger Force) and...
