Meg are a four piece quirky Lo-Fi Indie Rock Pop band from Kidderminster. Formed mid 2001 by a chance meeting on Gorky's Zygotic Mynci's message board, Rob Geraghty (guitar/vocals) and Matt Pimm (keyboards/guitars) were shortly joined by Tom Games (drums) and Allan Thombs (bass).
Drawing on influences from a weird collection of bands from the mainstream to the obscure they fashioned a sound that is best described as 'rock but at a slight tangent to the universe'.
After considering a long list of names (that sounded like Death Metal bands for the most part) they eventually settled on 'Meg' in tribute to Robs loyal(ish), black cat.
From supporting Quasi, a headlining gig at the Windmill in London to supporting Jarcrew, Trilby and Grandscope Meg have been building up a large musical catalogue and live fan base that has seen them play Aberystwyth University, The Flapper And Firkin, Birmingham as well as remaining favourites in their adopted musical home of Worcester.
Spotted by producer Gavin Monaghan (John Peel Sessions/Idlewild/Mercury Rev/Babes In Toyland) of Magic Garden Studios who offered to produce single A Song For / Patch and has since championed them on Radio WM. Meg are also receiving interest from several other radio stations and will recorded a video for AMTV

So brilliantly indie that it's almost painful. Layers and layers of loud guitars, topped off with some pleasant keyboarding and quiet-loud-quiet-LOUD tunes in true corduroy-flares fashion. Still, Meg certainly are different from pretty much anything you might have heard before. Diehard indie-kids, you're gonna love them. Actually, doesn't matter if you aren't, you just might love them, anyway!

I think the clever part of Megs music is the fact that it has a no shit attitude. They seem to have picked up on a style that is unique to them and thats where it works. Toxic Petes Music ReviewsMyGen Profile Generator
