I grew up on music, since my mother Barbara "Bobbie" was the grade school music teacher and instrumental teacher for our local school. I learned to play the flute in fifth grade and considered it my main instrument, until I sang Barbara Streisand's "Evergreen" and "Can You Read My Mind" from the movie Superman for high school talent shows. From then on, I wanted to pursue being a vocalist.
I was classically trained in Maryville College Tennessee. Since there was no pop training at this college, I sang various operettas and classical arrangements including "La Boheme" from Puccini. Then in the early 1990's, I met Lou Demeis, a singer/actor extraordinaire who was making a living performing at the southern jersey shore. He had also previously performed in various bands spanning a 30-year career and was involved in theater work. He began refining my mic technique and perfoming skills as a kind gesture.
I began collecting background cd's and memorizing songs, while honing my musical skills through Mr. DeMeis.I accumulated a repetoire of over 150 songs for performing at the Ocean City boardwalk, Wildwood boardwalk, Border's bookstore, restaurant venues, and Elks Club venues. In 2002, I had the honor of singing for my God in the Extreme Praise Band at the Absecon United Methodist Church. A few years later, I went into the studio to record some of my favorite songs at Copper Ridge Studio with engineer extraordinaire Frank Maione. A few of these songs are included on my myspace. The purpose of my page is to raise stroke awareness, gain friends and make musical contacts. My mother, a talented muscian and music teacher, suffered a stroke in 2006.
