Josh

I am the high you can't sustain.

About Me

I am me. Specific details are in the column to the right. I'm pretty laid-back and easy-going, and generally over-hyphenated. I enjoy engaging conversation and a good sense of humor, and when I do bite I don't usually draw blood so message me if you feel like it.To all the long-lost friends that find this account: Hey! How's it going? How've you been? What have you been up to lately? Cool, me too. Yeah, it's crazy how things change over the years. How's that other mutual friend of ours doing that I don't hear from very often? Hey, can I borrow $20?The beautiful young lady in my profile picture is my WIFE, JoAnn, as of 4/2/06 *whoohoo*. She currently has a permanent exclusive contract on my romantic interests, so any messages or friend requests that come along that appear to violate this contract will be ignored.Have a wonderful day, don't forget your towel, and most importantly, don't panic.

My Interests

Things of interest.

I'd like to meet:

Aristrocrats in monocles and top hats that are concerned with the financial outlook of the East India Company. The working class has gotten a bit to big for its britches, eh comrade?

Music:

Pretty much everything but country and the bling-bling hip hop garbage. Good hip-hop I enjoy. 40's and dubs, I do not. Rock tops out my list though. Particularly Nine Inch Nails and Radiohead.

Movies:

American Beauty, American History X, Lord of the Rings, Shawshank Redemption, Tombstone, Usual Suspects, many more...

Television:

Simpsons (generally pre-2000), Family Guy, Deadwood, Discovery Channel/History Channel stuff. I don't watch much else.

Books:

Fiction: Lord of the Rings Trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkein. Read it, live it, love it. Non-fiction: Blank Slate and The Language Instinct by Steven Pinker. Should be mandatory reading. In broader terms, I tend to thoroughly enjoy anything related to Norse/Irish/English/Germanic history, language and culture as well as linguistics in general.

Heroes:

I'm not a fan of hero-worship. I feel that tends to breed imitation rather than creation.
