Pledge of Resistance first track is "Nightmare", and first few seconds is of "...Elm Street" like Blood for Blood do, or maybe its a nod to BFB?
PoR play some fast angry hardcore, with plenty of gang vocals. No Redeeming Social Value springs to mind. "I'm not sorry" would be my fav of their 5, a nice fast one with great gang vocals. They finish up with a 12min track, 2 min. song, silence for 7mins, then what sounds like a (pretty good!) jamming with no vocals!

Jason at NGS finally hit his stride with all these comps this year. A take off on the seminal Where the Wild Things Are comp that influenced all of us, Where the Vile Things Are carries on the same unpretentious spirit that made the original great. Similar to the Midwest project, it's a split between four young and previously unheard bands, each turning in four or five tracks apiece. I'll go from best to worst, and the undisputed best has to be Pledge of Resistance. Harkening back to the skinhead friendly late 80's Oi/HC crossover era, these guys pull that whole thing off well. It's hard to compare them to anything specifically, but I'd say there is some definite Warzone and even a little Sheer Terror influence in there. The speed of Nightmare and Disgusted was great but bested by the hooks of I'm Not Sorry, a boss song that leans slightly more towards traditional Oi and lets the guitar solos out when necessary.
