Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, she moved to San Francisco in 1961. She raised a family of eight children: sons, Dan, Gary and Tom, and daughters, Elaine Meehan, Elizabeth Dalzell, Jeannine Brady (deceased), Virginia Brady and Mary Christine Light. Mary is also survived by her loving stepson Jerome Coleman; her 13 grandchildren: Sean, Michael, and Brian Brady, Rachel and Mimi Brady, Ben, Laura and Chris Dalzell, Jack and Scott Meehan, Bella and Nina Brady and Aileen Light; and her daughters-in-law, Barbara Herzig and Rosa Brady, Dale Minatoya; and sons-in-law, Bob Dalzell, Dennis Meehan and Jeremy Light; her sister, Josephine Jackson; and her brother and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Marcela Shaughnessy and Rita Shaughnessy. Preceded in death by her loving brother William Shaughnessy. After her children were raised, Mary started her second life, marrying Frank Coleman (deceased), going back to school and becoming a legal assistant. She continued to ceaselessly devote much of her time to her family and her grandchildren. Mary was special to all of us. She made all welcome in her home. She had the gift of loving unconditionally and we are all privileged to have had her touch our lives. Family and friends are invited to a Vigil Service at St. Thomas Apostle Church, 40th Ave and Balboa on Friday, Sept. 14 at 7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the church on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 11:00 am.
