After several years of pursuing their own musical paths, Fern has recently reformed with its original lineup including Jason Gaylor, Jay Sandidge, Brian Pierson, and Brian Snadon. Currently, Fern is writing new songs, with plans to record and play live in the near future.Intoxicating melodies and pounding rhythms landed Fern a tour with the well known Goo Goo Dolls in October 1999. In August of 2000 Fern played with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Moby, Fuel, Our Lady Peace, Marcy Playground and many more at the Rolling Rock Town Fair in Latrobe, Pennsylvania.Playing all over the Midwest has given this four-piece outfit plenty of opportunity to hone their live skill. Based in Springfield, Missouri, Fern has played regularly in Kansas City, St. Louis, Tulsa, Columbia, Springfield, and many cities in between. The band has played in Chicago as well as New York City. The four played the Mississippi River Music Festival (MRMF) in St. Louis and South by Southwest in Austin, Texas.Currently Fern is signed to an independent label, Ebbline Records. The band has made an effort to play in front of larger record companies when possible. Some of those that generated the most interest include the Workgroup, Dreamworks, and Lava/Atlantic, all of which have given money to Fern to record a demo with well-known producer Ted Niceley. Other interested labels include Sony 550, Epic, Columbia, and Universal.Fern has been playing together since August of 1995 and has accomplished many of the goals they set when they began. Being in a perpetual balance of writing great songs, playing shows, recording, and succeeding financially is a delicate task. Fern is trying its best to do it all and like any great rock 'n' roll band, continues to reach more fans and increase their following.
