****"THE TWO SPEND HOURS PLAYING LOUD FEEDBACK JAMS AS "THE INSURGENTS", PART PERFORMANCE ART AND PART SOCIAL EXPERIMENT.....AMY JENNIGES THE STRANGER 4/7/2005****** They are Seattle's first home grown Rock n Roll comic book hero's (or villians). They are Seattle Icons with an enormous cult following built on word of mouth. They never appear in public without the masks. They are totally original and impossible to predict. Even they never know what crazy thing they will do next. They stir citywide controversy standing up for their beliefs. Some of the many News stories about The Insurgents are as follows. "Screams and skulls not welcome" by The Ballard News Tribune 3/30/2005, "Masked Mauraders Terrorize Ballard" by The Stranger 4/7/2005, "Tiff over Guitar Riff" by The Ballard News Tribune 4/14/2005, "Get lost Stupid Skull Faces" by The Stranger in I Annonymous 03/14/2005, "Almost A knife Fight" by The Ballard News Tribune 5/2005 , "Club Mayhem" by The Queen Anne Times 5/2005, "I do it because it makes people laugh, and makes me smile under the mask" by The Stranger 7/14/2005, "Letters to the Ed" by The Seattle Comics Times 10/2005, "Masked Men Bring Change to Ballard" by The Ballard Talisman 2/17/2006, "Panel Report on The March 25, 2006 Capitol Hill Shooting" by Panel Chair James Alan Fox of Northeastern University 7/17/2006 (See Seattle Police website for report), "Epilogue to a Tragady" by The Seattle Weekly 7/2006. The story called "Epilogue to a Tragedy" is about the Kyle Huff Capitol Hill mass murder. It quotes The Insurgents with the following comments on Kyle Huff. "He was not young enough, not cool enough, not funny enough, not trendy enough. He didn't take their drugs, appreciate their music and dances, nor did he engage in their forms of deviant sex. Even among ravers noted for tolerance and acceptance, Kyle was an outsider, someone who did not fit into the crowd." The quote made the final report to the City of Seattle. It was claimed that this led to feelings that would eventually cause murder. We strongly dispute that theory to this day. The Insurgents are mentioned as "The Biker" in the final report. The Insurgents words sit on the Mayors desk, and are now part of Seattle history. They cooperated when asked by investigators through myspace when others hid. The Insurgents are praised by the families of the victims, the police and Mayor of Seattle for honesty and courage. They also lost many friends for not stonewalling the investigation. They have zero regrets. The Insurgents will never speak publicly about the Kyle Huff case again. Our thoughts and prayers go to those killed, injured or affected, as well as Kyles Mom and twin Brother Kane, the entire rave community, and those who hosted the tragic after party. Everyone in Seattle changed in some way because of the murders including The Insurgents. Seattle lost much of it's innocence that night. It was a sad incident in Seattle's history, in which all of us are to blame in some small way. Forgiveness and Love are the only possible first steps to healing. Now back to the fun!!! SEATTLE METAL GODDESS "BETTY X" comments on THE INSURGENTS 1/06/2006 "KEEP FUCKIN' WITH THE STATUS QUO! THE SEATTLE GEEKS GOT TO GO!!! LOVE TO HAVE YA AT OUR NEXT SHOW. SPREAD THE DISEASE! Look for many new Insurents projects in the fall and winter of 2006. The Huff issue set the recording of the music aside briefly as promised to the fans. We stay true the the fact that we are "of the people, for the people, and by the people, of Seattle". Thank You Seattle from The Insurgents! Remember, your life is but a blink of an eye. Make the most of each second you walk this planet and love eachother. Do not be afraid. Life is good and there is more here than you see with your eyes. XOXO "Technically, it is not aginst the law to be annoying" A quote from a Seattle police spokeman to the Stranger about The Insurgents April 2005., They're crazy! A quote from a Ballard merchant who asked to remain annonymous. "They would come in here, walk around and pick up woman. We do not allow that here!" A quote the owner of CONNER BYRNE in Ballard about the Insurgents! She 86st the pair for such politically incorrect behavior in Ballard. The Insurgents have no enemies and forgive all. The Insurgents only purpose is to bring some fun and joy into this sick world we face each day, for ourselves. We answer to nobody but ourselves and God. The Insurgents treat others with the same respect they are shown. They invite idea's and suggestions from fans, friends and the public. They take every complaint or concern very seriously and are open to hearing them. The only people who make decisions about the Insurgents are The Insurgents. They do not claim to be cool, hip, good looking, talented or part of the "In" crowd. We do not care to impress you or want your approaval or acceptence. We do what we do for ourselves and our fans. We have no opinion on matters outside of The Insurgents. We are making no public stand for any cause. We really dont give a shit about much except motorcycles, Rock n Roll and sexy woman. We are not political as an act and are not part of any political movement. The name Insurgents has nothing to do with terrorism. Like everything else in our act it makes you question. The Insurgents prefer peace but are not a peace organization or protest group. We are peaceful but will become vicious if antagonized or attacked. We are the same as a pitbull someone taunts to see if it bites. We do bite. Do not put your hand on a hot stove and expect not to get burned. Its not all an act. The Insurgents is simply a Rock and Roll band, motorcycle show or whatever else we want it to be. The Insurgents story is like no other in Seattle history. The Insurgents are impossible to discribe. The concept is impossible to explain. Read through all the blogs and see what You come up with. The Insurgents are a fad or underground cult celebrities with a large following.
