About Me

Heralding from South Australia, is this art? have been doing their thing for about since late 2002. Playing a busy schedule in the early days, they quietly went about their business releasing an EP, touring interstate and experimenting with different styles. Settling as a hard rock outfit, they went about releasing 2005's self - titled album to much acclaim around the local music scene. After commercial radio success with their track "weary" on NOVA 919 the boys were starting to see alot of hard work finally paying off. The EP also earned the boys a top 5 song nomination for their tune 'Elektra' at the 2005 MUSICOZ awards. Another milestone was reached in late 2006 when their first full length album was released. Since then, constant gigging and promoting of the album has seen the boys share the stage with the likes of 'The Hot Lies' and 'Birds of Tokyo'. Having realised at an early stage that they look really good in all types of t shirts and can pull off both blue or black jeans, our boys have always kept it real. It's all about the music here! Enjoy.Check out the new LP "Everything is cheaper than it looks" now! available at all stores through MGM/Green Media. ALSO AVAILABLE ON iTUNES.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: isthisart.com.au
Band Members: Paul "baby cakes" Haddad - Drums
Jarrad "Jaz" Turnbull - Lead Guitar
Paul "sweet cheeks" O'Brien - Bass
Matt "one take" O'Brien - Vocals/Guitar
Influences: We definitely have a wide range of influences. For example, our drummer Paul loves the Tea Party, Rage against the machine and Led Zeppelin while lead singer and guitarist Matt is a bit of a "Seattle early 90's" casualty still influenced by the likes of Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and Stone Temple Pilots. Our bass player Paul is a big Radiohead fan and new axeman, Jaz, has been known to call out the name "Dimebag Darrell" in his sleep. This coupled with our love of tons of Aussie acts like You am I, Silverchair and Augie March, there is no shortage of musical inspiration when penning our own numbers. Oh, and there there is also some bloke called Neil Young!
Sounds Like: A beautiful moment between friends, a sunset, a love song and a fuck you! (not you though x)..
Record Label: MGM/Green Media distribution
Type of Label: None
