I been.. I am.. I already..

About Me

if money's the root of all evil, then I'd rather be Satan
Snipuh :
(sny-puh) n. always on point, beyond what the normal is, range.. unlimited, shines in the spot-light.. etc
the iLLicit : adj. Not sanctioned by custom or law; without boundary.
Chapter 1: what's GOOD!!
(..yall KNOW who yall are.)
First of all, shoutout to ALL my true fam & family whose been there since day one. The fans I've amassed over the years that show me unconditional love. Everyone that ever told me '..when you get big, don't forget the little people' and believed in me from jump - even when I'd just laugh it off. Especially to those hatas that are STILL hot on my tracks, practicing as we speak, in hopes to one day outshine me. But for anyone whom has NO idea, or just wanna know MORE, about Snipuh the iLLicit - here's your chance to find out...
Chapter 2: "About Him"
(...you asked for it!)
Born March 4th, 1981 (you do the math) in Brooklyn. The birth certificate says Greg, but the name is Snipuh the iLLicit in case you hadn't noticed. He stands 6-foot-5 with a stocky build. He loves to laugh and have fun of course, but at the end of the day its all about business. He's always been talented & gifted, always been iLLicitly creative, always had charisma, always a perfectionist and basically always said to have been destined for greatness. He doesn't run around begging to be heard, his lyrics/music speaks for itself - bold '..in your face like oxygen'. Being humble means you actually care what people think, that's just NOT somethin' in his nature and never will be.
He's not a proper nigga by ANY means, but he's a genius with the gift of gab when he feels like writing or using it. The major difference between him and them is that he is, and has been loved & respected for him being him BEFORE PEOPLE EVEN FIND OUT HE MAKES MUSIC!! There's more dimensions to him than a rubrics cube, so don't even try classifying or categorizing him. He's a visionary, so lying or bullshitting him is definitely the dumbest move you can ever make. He knows a wide range of people from all walks of life, but won't tolerate liars at all, be real with him or go be fake with your OWN kind - real talk.
He's been spittin' since 1994/1995 and it wasn't planned at all.. just so happens that he talks with rhythm. But with the necessity to be different than the normal, having been bred by battle emcees, and rollin with mainly 'hood-bound niggas since grade school is why he spits the way he does. Without a care in the world for who gets offended by the off the wall shit he continuously says. For example, 'there's nothin plain about me, even Aaliyah will agree'.
Chapter 3: Transparency...
(...lemme make it real clear.)
Fact is, I've never pursued rappin as a career. Mainly 'cause I'm nobody's puppet and refuse to do what's expected as far as what commercial/mainstream A&Rs want. Regardless, it's a never ending chapter in my life, and is merely a passion. I'll only get on board with MY TRUE PEOPLES and everybody and they momma's momma knows I won't fuck with ANYBODY wack, fake or corny. I'm not here to meet the industry's watered down expectations, but I'ma rep my squads to the ends of the Earth and back. That's why you see me with the U.S MOVEMENT and Major League Records, thats fam. So I suggest yall check US out now before there's no room on the band wagon later.
Chapter 4: His Surroundings..
(... making moves like a hungry nomad.)
Grew up with just my Momz coming up, which is far from a broken home to me, She's stronger than adamantium. My pops bounced when I was like 3 or 4, no love lost for that, we kept in touch sporatically over the years. I make the best outta everything that happens, especially if I have no control over how it happens. But he lives out in Illinois with 'his family', so I have 2 half brothers and a half sister. And yea, I'm my Moms' only child... you could say that's the best of both worlds. Both my parents grew up in Brooklyn - my Grandparents on my Moms' side grew up in the South and on my father's side were born in Panama, and both sets moved to NY before having their kids..
Anyway, so I grew up in downtown Brooklyn, NY and resided there 'til I was 14, 15. In Dark Slopes mainly, but I got deep roots in Red Hook rollin with SDS .. thats the foundation. Then I was fuckin' DRAGGED to Bridgeport, which is the grimiest part of CT, to start H.S out there. Momz figured since I was cuttin school so much in BK, she'll 'take me away from that element.' Yeah... wonders that did for me to stay outta trouble, I won't even get into the crazy troubles I got into out there. No matter where I was living though, I always found time to be in BK every chance I got.
Chapter 5: His Surroundings continued
(... led to a diamond in the rough.. U.S!!)
Then Summer of '04, I moved to Boston to work and get more money. What I found was the strong presence of hiphop out there, even the females can spit it with the best of 'em (shoutout Letia Larok). Being that the world recognizes the East for NY, the West for Cali and the South as a toss-up between Houston & ATL...Boston gets overlooked and slept on. For that reason, they work harder to be heard and acknowledged. They come with an authentic sound, and are consistently working at gettin' even better. So from me to you, straight up, STOP SLEEPING ON THE BEAN!!
So when I met The Usual Suspeckts , it was obvious that they're the frontline of Boston hiphop. Summer of 05 they released their first mixtape and created more of a steady buzz than brand new clippers. With classics like "We Hustle", "C No Evil", and the OFFICIAL Boston anthem "My Block" with Breez Vocz singin' the hook. But it's the hit "War Report" feat Bubba Smiff, who's an artist from Queens, that gives them even a consistent buzz in New York.
Since the mixtape dropped, they've been performing all over Mass and parts of RI & NH, by POPULAR demand. I've always said, ever since B.I.G & Pac died hiphop hasn't been the same. But U.S ($BOBBYO$, Medisin Man and SHIVAA) pumps out hit after hit with crafty lyrics and classic hooks. And the new mixtape coming out soon is gonna be even hotter than the first. "Blood In My Eyes" is always requested on Boston's hit stations, 91.5 & 88.9 and "Do Addiction", Bobby O's solo, is stirring up a serious buzz already. While "That Hate Thing" by NaCiouS, a former U.S member, and Medisin Man has been in circulation for awhile and still a classic hit. Anchored by Q. (..the man behind the curtain) , the official producer of U.S, providing the foundation to ALL the hits. By the way, it's $100 a pop for his beats if you want one and when you hear the new tracks you'll see why.
Chapter 6: "I put Snipuh on...
(...the path to enlightment. His destiny's ignited & he's climbin' it..."--Phedz)
There's a difference between making songs & music: songs are fly-by-night hits that'll die out eventually, whereas music is a timeless classic like old Wu-Tang tracks..so I'd rather make MUSIC. With that said, I'll never just slap together a track and call it a day, that just isn't my style. if I don't feel its a classic, then its not finished.
So Phedz told me in Sept. 2006, '...playtime's over Snipe', and that I'm to be the foundation when he retires. And I've always said rap comes last behind everything that I'm involved with, not vice versa, since the industry is a joke. But business is lined up like dominoes, so I can actually set aside some time and put something together. So I've decided to call my mixtape "(I'll tell you later.)" and should be finished by late 2007/early 2008. So now everyone gets to collectively see what happens when I actually push myself to ascend ON PURPOSE. Keep in mind, you owe my nigga Phedz and then my nigga D-Hustle, of Trapstar Studios, debts of gratitude. In the meantime, enjoy the calm before the storm....
Chapter 7: Back to Business
(..as usual)
The paper chase continues, but I'm back in NYC now. I'm stayin in The BX, runnin' around Brooklyn and workin' on tracks. I make moves, so if you cant find me just leave a message with my breeze and I'll get back to you. But keep your eyes and ears open, there's gonna be mad new additions to come. I'll redo the entire myspace and let you know more of what's going on whenever I get some time to do it.
...to be continued.
