Tennis anyone?? I'm quite active when it comes to recreation, but anything intellectually engaging is always a welcome distraction. I need to be stimulated people! Do you want to politic or build? I'm your woman. No vapid conversations here. I'm a bit of a fashionista, though. I drool over the Ferragamo and Delman flats; my Louis Vuitton Papillon Petit Bucket works WAY overtime & I adore all things Yves Saint Laurent. They make such lovely, well-fitting clothes! Tres chic :) I also have a love of languages and can navigate a few.
I'm a music-head, so I dig Rap (street hop), Jazz, Rock, R&B, Techno, Classical, Latin/Mambo. I especially love John Coltrane, GangStarr, Sidestepper, Alana Davis and Lenny Kravitz. For 2007, I am re/discovering all things J Dilla. I'm also into Mark Ronson, especially his new track "Stop Me." I think this dude is from the Artifacts, but regardless, this track "Heat" is oh-so gutter! Also, I used to work for a Chamber Orchestra, so I'll be at the NY Philharmonic every so often. I try to get to the Met Opera too. With the right person, it makes for a great date :) Don't sleep, I'm often posting some music out of WAY left field...
I am a sucker for Spaghetti Westerns. It's my dad's fault. So anything Clint Eastwood is a go. The Magnificent Seven? Absolutely. The Good, The Bad & The Ugly? How could I NOT?!! Who doesn't love Tuco?? Blazing Saddles is by far the funniest (c'mon, the "Camptown Races" scene is hilarious, or what about, "The Sheriff is a Nig..." LMAO!!). I'll take the great Katharine Hepburn anyday, for sure. Busby Berkeley musicals are hilarious to me, so they're a go. Pioneering African American director Oscar Michaeux has made worthwhile material too. Did I mention the anime wins for me?? Fist of the North Star, Ninja Scroll, Samurai Deeper Kyo, Iria, Memories, Berserk...you name it and I've probably seen it a few times. Truth is, there are too many movies to mention, but all the Hong Kong John Woo flicks are winners (Chow Yun Fat is such a hottie) in my book, as are anything Spike Lee touches or whatever Hayao Miyazaki even thinks of creating; they're all are brilliant. Just to rep the Bronx, I gotta mention Beat Street! "Eat yo eggs or I'll break yo legs." LOL
All things anime.
