Without a foothold in the past, we cannot walk toward the future.

About Me

Graduated from the Columbus College of Art and Design with a BFA in Illustration. At night I do some freelance Illustration and during the day I look for a job... Just moved to Chicago to try and start the next chapter in my life. I plan on pursuing DJing for some extra income (and because it's probably my favorite thing to do) but I'm really here to go back to school for Video Game Design. I've been spinning House music since 2001. My partner Ororo and I have been throwing Columbus' longest running House weekly, "Restart", for about 5 years now and are still going strong. Now that I'm in Chi-town I'm hoping to start a Chicago chapter of Restart while Ororo holds things down in Columbus. You can hear her @ Bento Go Go (1728 N High St, Columbus Ohio 43201) every Tuesday night, and you can hear some of my mixes at www.xstreamist.com/sparrow . Take a second and vote if you have the time.

My Interests

Creating, DJing, drawing, listening to music, changing for the better. My partner Ororo and I throw the soon-to-be-legendary weekly event 'Restart' at Bento Go Go (1728 N High St, Columbus OH 43201) every Tuesday in the 614. Very few things in my life can compare to the feeling I get from spinning for a House crowd.

I'd like to meet:

People who are genuinely kind and honest. Everyone else can fuck right off.

Music:

• Passer Domesticus

• E Pluribus Unum

• Get What You Need

Movies:

Waking Life, Signs, Shawshank Redemption, Seven, any film by Hayao Miyazaki...

Television:

is evil (commercials especially). Studies have shown that your brain shows less activity while watching television than it does while you sleep. Anything that uses psychological tactics to convince us we need a material object to be happy is fucking bullshit. However I will play the fuck out of some Video Games...

Books:

You Are Being Lied To (especially the intro chapter by Howard Bloom) or anything else put out by 'Disinformation,' Celestine Prophecy, books on Symbology, The Da Vinci Code, Akira, the Sandman (or any other comic that shows the potential of comics as an artform)

Heroes:

Todd Edwards. He produces some of the most innovative House and Garage I've ever heard (he created the cut-and-paste style that is now a trademark of the whole genre), is credited as being the 'Godfather of UK Garage' (even though he's this guy from New Jersey), and expresses his spirituality with God in all of his songs. So basically he gets to do what he loves while celebrating his faith, and he gets paid for it. Damn.

Chicago

So I've been in Chicago for 3 and a half months now and it's been amazing. Moving was one of the hardest things I've had to do, emotionally speaking. I knew it was going to be the best thing for me ...

DJ mixes have been added to the website!

The only thing that had been keeping me from putting downloadable Mixes on the Restart website was the fact that I didn't know how to convert them to MP3. Well I finally figured it out and you can no...

Last thing the world needs is another asshole...

The most inspirational people to me in my life were not those who preached or criticized or judged from a distance, but those who led their lives as virtuously and honestly as they could. Unintention...

Adventures in Tucson

Went to Tucson AZ to visit Grant over the weekend. It's beautiful down there. I kept getting mesmerized by the sky and the mountains that surround the entire city. When the sun is setting behind th...
