Steve Spicer is a drummer that has emerged into the bay area music
scene with great presence. His exciting personality and commitment to great
music is truly evident to the listener. Steve is a rock and roll drummer at
heart, yet years of classical and contemporary training give him a unique
and unusual style. Born in England and raised in the U.S., Steve is the son
of classical musician and teacher, Richard Spicer. Steve's father was his
greatest musical influence and instructed him in musical discipline from a
very young age. This discipline is evident in his ability to hold an
uncompromised, dynamic rhythm, assuming the role of the metronome.
Steve has been fortunate to play with many great musicians, with
backgrounds from both classical and rock and roll. Having been a student
at many international music institutes, he has had the honor of playing
with trumpet legend Phill Smith, and other very influential musicians.
Steve has also recorded five brass band CD's with two different brass
bands, and has toured extensively in Europe, North America, and other
countries including Jamaica, Puerto Rico and Costa Rica. The formaton of
LoNero by guitarist Bill Lonero has brought Steve together with his
current bandsmen who are all endorsing products such as Peavey, Washburn,
Hot Picks, Dunlop, Rebel Straps and Seymour Duncan.
