About Me

The Florida African-American Student Association, Inc. was founded in 1976 with the purpose of developing, implementing, intensifying and perpetuating a complete program to identify and address educational, economic and cultural concerns of students of African descent. F.A.A.S.A. represents over 60,000 students in colleges and universities throughout the state of Florida.The organization serves as a network to develop programs that promote effective communication, unity, respect for African culture, and excellence in all endeavors.F.A.A.S.A. accomplishes its goals and objectives through the P.A.C.E. Plan. P.A.C.E. is an acronym for Political, Academic, Community/Cultural, and Economic development.Political – Promoting the involvement with and monitoring of local, state, and national issues that affect people of African descent in the political arena.Academic – Developing programs and activities geared toward recruiting, retaining, and graduating students of African descent at all levels of education.Cultural – Developing programs and activities that enhance cultural development and maintain an autonomous community.Economic – Stimulating public and private interest in F.A.A.S.A.’s activities and programs with emphasis on, but not limited to, financial entrepreneurship among members and supporting businesses and civic organizations.In order to address its needs, F.A.A.S.A. conducts two leadership conferences per year, one in the fall and one in the spring.Please explore our website for additional information on F.A.A.S.A., our upcoming conferences, and other activities.WWW.FAASAWEB.ORG
