Tone, Taste, Timing....means everything

About Me

Yo...my name is Luke, I'm 20, and I'm a Bluegrass Musician. Mandolin is my main instrument, but I also play fiddle, bass, and guitar. No banjo yet! haha... I'm taking it slow on playing music for the summer, trying to save money, and get finished with college asap! I love music!!! I'm a Senior at Glenville State College where I major in History and Minor in Bluegrass Music. I love the business aspect of promotion! I like the old style of bluegrass best...mainly Jim and Jesse's stuff. They never got the credit they deserve!!!! Also Reno and Smiley, Flatt and Scruggs, Bill Monroe, and the Osborne Brothers. I've had many bluegrass heroes, but my first ones were Jackie Kincaid, Jesse McReynolds, Ronnie McCoury, and Doyle Lawson. I'm a Summer intern for the WV Dept. of Culture and History. I play and endorse Auburn Mandolins by Gene Burgy. They are some of the best mandolins made when it comes to bark, tone, and clarity! BLUEGRASS music is my life as you can tell by reading everything above, but I also love baseball, softball, college football, bowling, fishing, and hanging out with my friends. If you want to know anything else, let me know.
OHH!!! And I'm also in the studio finishing up my first solo project. The title is still to be determined. Soon, I'll be working on a Jim and Jesse Tribute Album featuring former Virginia Boys members Buddy Griffin, Jack Hicks, and Ashley Messenger, and some of the Glenville State College band members.
